I was just curious why the first screen wouldn't be good to use for an LCD projector. Is a matte white different then say a brilliant white that Carada would sell?
You can get the Polk R150 bookshelf speakers from Fry's for $49.99 a pair. That's a great price. I bought some, but I'm waiting on a receiver so I haven't heard them.
Thanks for the reply. I was actually set on the Onkyo TX-SR504, but what do you think of these choices? Do you think it's worth it to step up to these, or is the upgrade slim? Onkyo TX-SR505 or Pioneer VSX817K The Onkyo has HDMI inputs, Audyssey 2EQ auto room calibration, and iPod...
Hi all, I currently have the following equipment and speakers: Sony Rear Projection KP-51WS500 - Composite (2 out), S-Video (3 out), Component (2 out) DirecTV HR20 - Composite (2 out), S-Video (1 out), Component (1 out) Sony DVP-NS75H DVD player: Composite (1 out), S-Video (1 out)...
Do you think it's to good of a deal to pass on? I always figured the next time I upgraded I'd get a 1080p set as that is what I really want. Do you think the A2000 models will drop in price and still me sold, or will they be phased out and replaced with the A2020 instead of offering both models?
I saw that Sears has the Sony KDF-55E2000 on sale for $1499 this week. Is this a good tv as well as a good deal? Seems like a very good deal to me. They had the Sony KDS-50A2000 for $1899, but not sure if they have any left. Actually they seem to have good deals on all their Sony tv's this week.
I was just wondering if any performance would be lost between the two receivers? Mainly instead of going with the Denon 2807 going with the Onkyo TX-SR674 The Denon is around $1099 while the Onkyo is around $599. The Onkyo doesn't have as much wattage 95 vs. 110. Also, the Onkyo may have one...
I have a room that is 12 x 23 x 7 which will be used for a dedicated home theater soon. My dad, brother and myself finished the basement a few years ago and at the time really didn't see it being a home theater. Because of that very little to no insulation was put between the ceiling joists that...
Oh the joys of decisions. I'm sure either one will be great. I've heard the fan noise on the Sanyo is really loud. Is this true? I'm kinda fretful that with the Sanyo projector you might experience the screen door affect and digital artifacts if I decide to move in closer. However, having...
Actually, I'm not even considering those speakers they were just the biggest that the Best Buy had set up at the time. So I decided to give them a listen. I went and Auditioned another Klipsch setup today: Klipsch RF-63 and Klipsch RF-82 - Floorstanding Klipsch RC-10 - Center Klipsch...
Thanks again for the info Shane. I was leaning towards the Panasonic, however I will look at the Sanyo as well. Does the Sanyo offer anything that the Panasonic doesn't? I read a review on both and they seem to be so very close. What does the Sanyo offer that might push it ahead of the...
Out of these three which one would you consider to be the best? Mitsubishi HD1000U Panasonic AX-100U Optoma HD70 The HD1000U and AX-100U seem to be very similar. Seems the reviews tend to favor the Panasonic one. The Optoma is much cheaper than the two above it. There are two other...
Thank for the info! I was reading a few articles and it seems that the bulb life of a front projector last about one year. I think this all depends on the amount of hours you watch something though. 1. Ability to completely control light in your HT room (This isn't a problem as the room...
What are your thoughts about going with a projector vs. tv or vise versa. From trolling these forums and looking at people's setups it seems projectors are the way to go when setting up a dedicated home theatre. I don't know much about projectors at all, so I was just wondering what are the...
I just started to go around and audition different speakers. My first stop was Best Buy since it was right down the street from where I work. I auditioned the following speaker set up. Trying to get something comparable to an Axiom 60/500. Hopefully I'll be able to audition the Klipsch RF...
I found a couple threads that discussed primarily music to audition speakers with, but was wondering if I could get your thoughts again on what type of music and movies are good choices for auditioning a speaker package. Thank you! My thoughts were: Music: Josh Groban: Live in Concert...
I apologize if this is the wrong forum to post this in, but I was curious if anyone had ever wired their home to be a "smart home". Such as install a distribution panel for internet, cable, telephone, etc...and then run everything out to adjoining rooms. What was your experience, what is...
Well I think I may have found out what the problem is. The HDMI-DVI cable that I bought has a DVD-D Single Link connector for the DVI end. The connector on the tv looks to take a DVD-D Dual Link DVI connector. A change in cable might make it work.
Hi all, Is it possible to hook up an HDMI source (Sony DVD player - DVP-NS75H) with a HDMI/DVI cable to my Sony KP-51WS500? I'm currently trying this, but I'm getting a blank picture. The light for HDMI is showing on my DVD player yet nothing is being displayed on the TV. The tv manual...
Hi all, I need some help on understanding the difference between the following two cables. These are HDMI to DVI cables that will connect my Sony DVD player (HDMI) to my Sony RP tv (DVI). Besides the price what is the difference? These are found at monoprice. 1...
Hi all, I was needing a little advice on one of the following receivers that I have noticed, and whether they would be powerful enough to drive a sound system from Axiom such as M80s, VP150, EP500, QSR8's. Pioneer VSX-816x Pioneer VSX-516-K Sony STR-DG600 Yamaha HTR-5930SL I've...
