Do you have more than 2 speakers in one room if so they may be wired in parallel or series. If this is the case then you don't need to use as many channels from your amp. your best bet may be to buy a 8 or 12 channel distribution amp.

When I use this type of terminal I go through the hidden hole. I thread the wire from the bottom of the hole and extend the wire about 1/8 to 1/4" then tighten the terminal

To check the outlets for reverse polarity use a DVM. check left slot to ground there should be 0 vac and then the right slot to ground there should be 120vac. All outlets should have 120 to ground in the right slot.
