1) How many daytime episodes from before 1965, when they actually started saving them, exist?
2) Looking at a couple of episode guides, including Kevin Segura's guide, how did the first of two intact color primetime episodes come to be #464N? I know that beginning in 1961, they aired reruns of...
Why is this film adaptation of Hemingway's novel quite hard to find? All I know is that it had a couple of VHS releases (one in 1977 as the last of the original 50 titles Magnetic Video acquired from 20th Century Fox, and another by Fox Video in the early 90's). It also had an official DVD in...
This isn't ANOTHER demand for more DVD releases, but how many storylines of the 1964-1969 series were there? And how many episodes were there for each storyline?
I was on eBay just now, and I found a good chunk of taping tickets for the show from his final year in 1992. Was this how Carson would do the show during the final year? Tape each episode at 5:30 p.m. daily, and then each of them would air several hours later?
Who here remembers this British adaptation of Raymond Chandler's novel with Jimmy Stewart, Joan Collins, and Sarah Miles in the principal cast? It was produced by ITC, and was a United Artists release here in the states.
I heard it was much closer to the original novel, than the 1946 film...
TCM just aired this film during their James Garner tribute, and I have a question about it:
Is there a version of this film on video with the original MGM logo that started the picture? It was similar to the one used for their Hotel in Las Vegas. Only two other films used it: 2001: A Space...
In 2008, VCI, under licence from Fox, released volumes 1 & 2, featuring all of season 1, and were strong sellers for Fox. But then for no reason, Fox, being the so-called "experts" that they are at business and marketing, jacked up the price through the stratosphere for future releases.
It is...
When the show first went into rerun Syndication in September 1982, were the episodes shown in their original, correct airing order? Anyone here recall for sure?
And yes, what I said was true. Most of the airdates for season 1, as listed in most sources for instance, are dead wrong...
Is it just me, or is the DVD PAL-sourced? I began to suspect this, when I watched the film, and then compared it to the songs in the video below. They're slower than the way they were in the film.
Surprised Fox has not restored this film for Blu-Ray here in the States. It was released by Magnetic Video on VHS and Betamax in 1977 as one of the 50 original titles from Fox, and has pretty much never been released on video again. At least not here in the States.
More importantly, this film...
It was a 6-episode series from 1974 that aired on ITV. The theme song was composed by Paul McCartney of all people.
Anyone know why the theme song sounds so unusually fast here? Was it filmed at 24fps, despite being a British production (a la The Avengers 1965-1969 episodes)?
When the film was first released by Magnetic Video as one of the 50 original Fox titles in 1977, did they use the original Roadshow version? On the Magnetic Video version, which was a 2-tape-set, it said "195 Minutes". But for all I know, it could have been misleading, and that it was really the...
Does anyone know which Pre-1953 Disney films still do not have their original RKO logos restored?
The only one I can think of is Song of the South. To this day, nobody knows how its custom RKO logo looked like. This individual did a little recreation of how it might have looked like. Any others?
I noticed on the Blu-Ray release of Oliver & Company, the last few notes of the ending theme are still missing. They were missing before on the 25th anniversary DVD as well. The 1996 re-issue had those last few notes, as did the original 1988 release.
I think it may have something to do with...
When this film was first released in theaters in 1979, which opening and closing logos were used? Did they differ depending on whether people saw it in British or American theaters?
The earliest print I have seen, the 1980 Magnetic Video release, began with the Associated Film Distribution...
Cartrivision (introduced in 1972) was, from what I understand, the first attempt to bring pre-recorded motion pictures to home video, which, unfortunately failed. I also read that there were red cartridges, which were only available by mail-order-rental. They also could not be rewound on the...
I am hoping for the original 2-hour Mandarin mono version of Bruce Lee's first major motion picture, The Big Boss (1971). Rumor has it that a few complete copies of the premiere print are in private collections.
According to IMDB, when Paramount first released it on Home Video in 1979, all references to Doris Day were cut from the Sandra Dee song. Why would Doris Day, or anybody else associated with her, have anything against referencing her in that song?
Not sure where exactly to put this thread in. But anyways, here's the opening to the 1981 Magnetic Video Laserdisc version of West Side Story. Take a look at the United Artists logo. You'll be in for quite a surprise, even though the film did not originally have this logo.
I've got a question about the game show. The original 1950-1067 series with John Daly to be exact.
How many episodes exist, of the 876 that were made? I believe it might be 763, but I am not even sure about that. Do any of the 100 or so missing episodes (most of which are from 1950 to 1952) at...
The recent thread on WKRP in Cincinnati had me thinking:
Rather than going back and redubbing some of the original dialogue, why couldn't they just drown it out with the replaced music, like Game Show Network did on some episodes of The Newlywed Game?

I was looking at some old issues...
I seem to remember reading that filmed programs, when shown in PAL territories, will be effected by PAL Speed-Up, depending on what the stations are working with. If they're working with tape masters, the speed will be left alone. But if they're working with the original film elements, then they...
Hello, everyone. I'm new here, and I have a question about the 1982 Carolco logo (the one with the two diagonal streaks zooming in from the bottom left and upper right of the screen, merging together to form the logo on a black background). Was that logo featured on the Thorn-EMI Video release...
