No, they don't. Sorry that you disagree, but you're simply wrong. The cost of the development of those failed attempts at DIFFERENT films were absorbed long along by other hit films that WB has produced throughout the last decade. That's the nature of developing a franchise like Superman...

A 20% drop in week 17 is hardly "normal." And yes, it's victory against all of the naysayers who went on and on about how the film would never cross $200 million. Stick that in your pipe and smoke it. :P

I think both The Dark Knight and Superman Returns 2 will cross $250 million domestic quite easily. :)

Cost is irrelevant unless your the head of the studio. Simple fact: Superman Returns made more than Batman Begins. It doesn't matter which cost more, it matters how many butts were in the seats and Superman wins that battle. :)

I was *this* close to buying it this morning at Wally World for $12.64, but decided not to. And walked out with Justice League: Unlimited and Slither. Perhaps this weekend I'll pick it up. The Packaging is mighty enticing!

Will Superman Returns be the first film that was shot digitally released on HD-DVD? Just curious. Either way it ought to be breathtaking in HD. :)

I think Minority Report has a quite beautiful 2:39:1 transfer. And Revenge of the Sith is flawless.

Singer was the reason a Superman movie finally got made, was well received by audiences and critics, and had as good legs as it did. And he'll be back for the next film too, fortunately. If he wants to make another film in between, WB will wait. Just like they waited for Nolan on The Prestige...
