The first 3 seasons of Barnaby Jones are up on Pluto TV. I suspect they are using the prints from the complete series dvd set.. Season 1 looks to be HD masters from the season 1 set, while Seasons 2 and 3 look SD and might be edited syndicated prints, I haven't watched a complete episode yet to...
I just bought The Fugitive: The Complete Series DVD on Amazon for $50. It is sold by and ships from Amazon. All the discs inside are from The Fugitive: The Most Wanted Edition. That's how they are literally labeled; their front is all black, with the Most Wanted Edition logo and the episode...
I'm enjoying season 1! The image might be a little grainy, but lowering the sharpening compensates. I think it looks a little better than what's streaming on Peacock!
I rewatched "Nightmare at Northoak." The nightmare sequences and the conversation between Kimble and Gerard were great!
I thought the writing of Kimble's escape was rather lame though. Would Gerard really be that incompetent to allow the whole town to shake hands with Kimble, especially...
Somehow the music replacement episodes are what these stations play now when they run the Fugitive Seasons 2 and 3. It's a travesty. There's literally no reason for it other than stupidity, laziness, and incompetence.
As an epilogue to the Fugitive finale, people should watch a 2 part episode of the TV show Cannon called "He Who Digs a Grave" from 1973. David Janssen guest stars as a man suspected of murdering his wife. William Conrad's private investigator character Cannon gets him off, and everything seems...
I just viewed this disc and the transfer is truly top notch! To see 1953 Technicolor like this is unbelievable! The highest praise!
Unfortunately, they made an error with the trailer. It's not included. Instead we get the first 3 minutes of the movie in washed out SD. I think they made the same...
I'm returning my crushed set for a full refund. Amazon sent it in a flimsy white plastic envelope.
I will try ordering it again on Amazon now, as it is around $65 ($80 plus a 20% off coupon). Hopefully they'll send it in a box this time!!
I just ordered this after the price dropped to $85 on amazon. It came in a couple of days, literally smashed to pieces; the outer box torn; the inner sets all crushed, with pieces falling off 🥺
I can't believe Universal has released on blu ray themselves the complete run of a 1950s black and white series!! Could they do Alfred Hitchcock Presents next??
TCM aired a few episodes of The Doris Day Show in HD a few years ago for her 100 birthday. They looked great! Unfortunately, the DVDs don't look as good, neither do the streams I've found. Were those HD episodes only done for TCM, or is this show available in HD anywhere?
The Dick Van Dyke blu rays are amazing! I've been going through them this year and am finally up to season 5. The blu ray transfers put the transfers on the DVDs from the early 2000s to shame!
I finally got this and watched the first episode. Unfortunately, very little work has been done on it by WB. The quality is way below what you'd get from CBS/Paramount. Adjusting the picture quality on my smart TV screen, I was able to make it look decent, but it's very far from HD quality. It's...
Another Laramie oddity on the Starz app. The Starz version of Episode 31, "Men of Defiance," is one that doesn't have the Laramie opening and is missing the 2 minute tag scene at the end with the regular Laramie cast. Both of these are apparently on the Laramie DVD season 1 set. The Starz...
I've been watching Laramie on the Starz app. The HD prints have been stellar!! I just watched episode 28 from season 1, "Saddle and Spur," with guest star Beverly Garland. It runs to 45 minutes, 4 minutes shorter than the previous 27 episodes. Did they accidently remaster a syndicated print for...
I'm disappointed by the picture quality of Star Trek TOS on blu ray. I've been watching season 2, and in so many episodes (such as "Mirror, Mirror") there are scenes where the picture quality drops, becoming fuzzy, with weak colors, as if they are sourcing the scene from 16mm instead of 35mm. I...
I recently rewatched the first season of Gunsmoke and thought it was really strong! My only complaint is that the television producers should have put more faith in the radio scripts. The radio material was amazing and could have stood as is; it didn't really need that much adapting to...
I have the Time-Life set too! I checked out the current repacked DVD set, and it uses the same discs as the Time-Life set. I think the picture quality in the set could be improved. They are a lot of digital artifacts in all the episodes. I would definitely buy a blu-ray with new HD masters!
This gives incentive to continue watching Cannon all the way to the end! I'm watching on the DVDs and am stuck in late season 4. I think Season 4 so far is the worse season. I'd rank the seasons best to worse 3-1-2-4. Hopefully Season 5 is an improvement!
With The Doctors, the site they were on used to charge to watch. Now that it's free, the quality of the video stream has decreased.
When the paying site launched, those who ran it were promising that the complete run of The Doctors would one day be available, meaning all of the 1963-1967 and...
I've been watching Cannon for the first time on DVD, thanks to the VEI Complete Collection I bought back in 2020. It's good! I've just been stuck on season 4. To me, the quality of the stories aren't as good as in the previous seasons; there are a lot of holes in the season 4 stories.
Through...
