Is it just me, or does everyone have a repeat of Glimpses of Australia from Volume 1? It's not a misprint. On both volumes, it's clearly stated and included.
There were two authoring issues, each on a different set. The first involved the Prowler of the Everglades features and the second involved the Secrets of Life feature. You can read about them here...
Yeah, I was just trying to find a release date for the new set for a DVD Profiler entry, but I'm coming up empty. About the only clue I get is the 2015 copyright, which narrows it down to the first three months.
Not for nothing, but it's sort of our own fault because we keep buying this stuff. Not you specifically, Steve, but the persistent number of folks who figure this is as good as it will get, so might as well.
Everything's so far has been a touch soft but watchable. Did some spot checking and it's not as awful as you'd think. I wouldn't want to project this on a big screen, but it's okay on modest displays. One plus is every feature has English subtitles, so the three Vault titles are now...
Found it on the shelf as well. Haven't checked the quality yet, but they are stuffing 4 movies on one side of a dual layer disc, for a total of two discs. They're bound to have compression issues.
My question is does anyone know when this was released? It just sort of snuck out there, as...
Actually, the top post of that thread should contain a link to the latest version of the headshot database. It's a ton to go through and I personally discard maybe 75% of it because they were standardizing on headshots taken in the last decade. All well and good, but they ended up using the...
I usually wait for the final build but looking over the notes I see that the alternate profile addition is going to be huge. It was probably the biggest complaint with this program and they finally put it to bed.
My copy of JATB is from Good Times. It retailed for about 5 bucks, was a pressed disc and features the original sepia tone for the framing sequences. Considering it's a Good Times product, it's likely they "borrowed" from the old Image laserdisc release. Regardless, it's the best copy I'm...
Personally, I've checked out Serial Squadron's stuff before I get anything from VCI. They also do reviews on their message board for anything serial related.
I *thought* these were verified as simply being rehashes of the Sony releases which means international dubs. AIP dubs require additional clearance time with Toho and expense, which implies that they would be advertised as a selling point.
It's been a while and I admittedly haven't re-read through all 12 pages of the thread, but I seem to recall the day for night scenes looking fairly awful in this release. They were so bright it looked more like an overcast day. I'd love to see that fixed, although Disney being who they are...
I tried to check this out but I obviously don't have the ear for it. Then it occurred to me that if there is a speedup issue, perhaps total running time would reflect this. So, from start of the Universal fanfare to closing credits fade...

I'm a little indifferent. There are no booms or mics evident as a result of showing us the open frame. Also, I originally came by these pictures as a boy growing up in New York during the 70's watching the WNEW Sunday noon movie. WPIX would show an Abbott and Costello movie at 11:30 and WNEW...
Maybe they're different transfers, but I have every title listed excluding Variety Girl as a previously released pressed disc. I'm not including the American Masters documentary, primarily because I view those things as extras.
This was quietly corrected in later pressings of the DVD, so I'm sure the Blu is good.
Whoops, this is what happens when you respond to the last post on page 1.
Got mine yesterday and spent the better part of the afternoon creating the DVD Profiler entries for it. For those who use the software, profiles are available as of today. I've created them for all four sets over the years, so they match up well for cast and crew aliases and what not.
Looking forward to Nasty Habits, but that's a movie that didn't age well. If you're not familiar with the details of Watergate, then the spoof is lost on you.
Big fan of Rough Cut, here. So much so that it's the only film I bothered to track down a VHS to DVD port. It's watchable but obviously P&S. Would love to see an anamorphic widescreen release, even if it's only through Warner Archives. Unfortunately, I'm not seeing a lot of new Paramount...
My region free Philips does it as well. Frankly, I got tired of even burning stuff to disc and went with a Western Digital TV Live box. The thing has an RJ45 input on one end and a HDMI output on the other. It sucks any media file right off my server via the data cable and throws it out 1080p...
I don't know. Warner has been at the forefront pushing new formats for years now. Instead of bothersome, I think it's pretty telling as to where the physical media market is these days. If Warner can't figure out how to make hi-def media work in this niche market, it probably means that it...
I didn't have a problem with it back when I owned a 27" TV and I don't have a problem today when I get giant vertical bars watching old movies on my widescreen TV.
When I'm watching a movie, the surroundings tend to become less important because I'm focused on the movie. If the number of...
Wait, let me understand. You don't have any original cases and all your discs are recordable media? It's none of my business, but it sounds like you pirated the entire collection.
Beyond that, I store all my discs in cases and then track the location in DVD Profiler, which now has an...
Yeah, that's kind of what I was trying to say. I love the fact that they fixed the OAR in the one double feature and found that to be a worthy upgrade. The rest of them, not so much. I mean more power to the folks who got something out of them, but it was just flushing money down the drain...
I did the same thing. Anything else just seemed like a waste of money, particularly since there are no additional features. Thankfully it doesn't bother me to watch SD. I'm finding it's saving me a crap-ton of money.
