whatever you decided to do, I hope you used good acoustic panels. So many forget this all important step. Acoustics are key to any true home theater setup. If I see a Home Theater without acoustics, I think rookie every time.
That is a dope dope set up. I would add some DIY acoustic panels; however. Acoustics are key if you want a "legit" Home Theater experience.
Fancy stars in your ceiling wont do much for the experience, but acoustics will take shit up several notches.
received my sconces at Lowe's. they are very nice and we love them The cieling is like that due to duct work. I do not notice any sound problems, and it is fine. thanks for the compliments!
yes, it is an eggshell finish...good eye! I wanted to use flat paint, but couldn't justify it in the end. I had two choices, a little bit of gloss, or repaint every 2 years until the kids graduate high school. I went with the eggshell. With the lights out, it is pitch black and there is...
http://www.hometheaterforum.com/gall...6160&g2_page=2 Very excited, been wathcing movies and this is awesome! Started January 2006, just put the screen up last week. Finally done...all comments and suggestions welcome! Equipment list: Diplay: Panasonic PTAX100U Speakers L/C/R...
sweet theater, bro! love the clean look of it. I just ordered my projector on yesterday from projector people and will finally be able to share with everyone as well. great work, and as someone always says on here, find the time to enjoy it!
Ray, I responded to the ridiculous comments on the electronichouse site and will respond to them here as well. That fool Alex is nothing more than that...a fool. He does not understand why people like us would ever take on a challenge like building a dedicated HT. His problem is he...
just got my issue of HT magazine in the mail today. Wow...I'm jealous. When I'm done, I would love to have my HT featured like that. nicely done, my friend
I dont know what is wrong, but I Cannot read any subtitles or see the score of sporting events on my panny 50" plasma. I know some of the surronding image is cut off, but shoudln't this be takin into account? anyone else have this problem?
there is an article in the march issue of HT magazine that addresses your question. They blast motorols's DVR, but give great reviewes to the SA 8300 HD DVR. They say tivo is far and away the better option, but at $800 plus monthly service fee, you would have to be a DVR nut to pay that. I...
thought of an idea. I wonder if I turn off the Panny speakers if the sound will work? If the TV is casuing this while mess, it is obvisouly confused as to what to do with the the audio signal that is coming in from the cable box and the DVD player. It must only be able to play it through the...
mikeup, i'm not saying the HDMI issue is with the panny, but it seems to be based on whats happnening......could be with the SA 83000 HD HVR Explorer and my DVD player. anyone out there have any thouhgts?
I should take back my earlier comment as the person working at BB the night I went in let me exchange the unit. The person on the phone said no way. funny, depending on who you talk to there are two different policies. they were out of the LG, so I exchanged for a philips....we'll see.
tv set up. HD and DVD looks GREAT! SD TV is ok at best. maybe calibration will improve. anyways, great purchase. well, HDMI issue, not sure if I need to tell the Panny to only use HDMI for video? I have no HDMI swithing ablility, so I ran HDMI from SA 8300 and Philips DVD for video...
thank you. TW told me I need HDMI with a DVR...maybe for another reason. anyway... The HDMI is going from the cable box into the TV, HDMI input one. I have no cable co-ax going to the TV at all. I have an optical audtio cable going to the cable box into my receiver. When I switch to...
will the SA8300 HD DVR record with a component connection? Just got my first expereince with HDMI and it is not a good one. cannot get audio properly sent to my receiver. maybe there is a setup issue with my TV/cable box and DVD, but when I use component cables, everything works great...
That is what I am thinking as well. problem is I have a DVR from time warner, 99% sure I need to use HDMI to record on the DVR. anyone else have some suggestions. I would hate to tell my wife we need to buy a new receiver with HDMI switching.
hooked up DVD player via component video, and everything is fine. do you mean to tell me that if I use HDMI, I cannot send an audio signal from the device to my receiver? do I need to go out and buy a HDMI switching receiver?
just bought a new dvd player and TV. philips recordable DVD and panny 50" plasma (same one as everyone on this site buys). the video is working fine. I have HDMI for video from cable box and DVD to TV. I am running optical from my time warner box and digital co-ax from my dvd to my onkyo...
