Absolutely! It is good to have efficient speakers as your receiver will not have to work nearly as hard to drive them. And they will play louder at the same volume level than inefficient speakers.
That is a very good price for a great receiver! Someone should snatch it up. I recently bought a 435 and just love it. Great sounding, powerfull receiver.
If your room is on the small-medium size, I highly recommend the Mirage Omni S8 sub. It normally goes for $349, but I just got one at Vanns.com for $199. The black is full price but the Platinum color is on sale. This sub has an 8" poly woofer with Titanium deposit , a 100 watt rms/400 watt peak...
http://www.geocities.com/Area51/Holl...1/ratevsac.htm I found this on another forum the other day. It is interesting to see how much power some receivers put out all channels driven and how poorly others performed. Too bad they don't have an updated version with some newer models.
http://www.geocities.com/Area51/Holl...1/ratevsac.htm Check this interesting chart out. The DSP-A1 was tested to put out 116 watts per channel, all 5 channels driven. Pretty respectable numbers.
I highly recommend the HK 435. It gives up little to the 635 ( A little less power, 2lbs. of weight, HDCD decoding). I recently picked one up from OneCall.com on sale for $399. Although it is now $479 it is still a bargain to me. Great sounding and looking receiver.
My recommendation for a pretty good and VERY inexpensive system to hold you over is as follows: 1. 3 pair of the highly regarded Insignia bookshelf speakers on sale right now at Best Buy.com for $39.99. 2. The Parts Express 12", 150 watt sub - Cat. # 300-635 on sale for $138.88. This...
I would recommend the Harman Kardon 3480. It is a 2 channel receiver with 120 wpc. It does have a sub out. You can get it for $264 including shipping from J&R.com. Thay are an authorized dealer. You could get it cheaper on Ebay also.
