Oh, so sorry. I HAD to post this. http://www.aivin.com.cn/200511/engli...?ArticleID=105 Look at the spelling of the bottom of the Amp :D :D :D :D
Seth... look here :) http://www.aivin.com.cn/200511/english/About.asp "As one of the few acoustic manufacturers in mainland China authorized by American DTS, DOLBY Company, aivin is the unique ODM amplifier supplier of Best Buy in America, who is one of the biggest worldwide home appliances...
Agreed. I bought a Yamaha HTIB at Best Buy for $300 a few years ago, and I have NOTHING left of that system today. Save money, buy an Onkyo or Denon, then speakers like homthtr said.
I had a similar problem yesterday, except I didn't have any audio coming through any speaker on my Onkyo when hooked to Toslink through my PS2. Turns out in the PS2 menu, Dolby Digital was on, and nothing was coming out. Surprisingly, I shut it off, and I had sound again.
I'm not sure... but I think the 631 might be a 2006 model? I have a 57732 Mitsu and it is beautiful on HD. It also has one of the best onboard HDTV airial tuners on the market as well. It also has 2 HDMI, 3 component and DVI as well.
I read about that actually, but I wasn't quite sure what he was referring to. And, I also did notice issues with the Sammy noise... eek. Another reason I think this still gets me is that the Best Buy stores over here, the SXRD's are still not repaired....
TV speakers pretty much suck nowadays... the only DECENT speakers are in my 30" tube Samsung 1080i monitor... and they can be ate for lunch by a Bose Wave radio
Make sure the mount will support the projector without issue. If you think it isn't strong enough to hold it, then it probably isn't. Also, be aware of what you are going to do with your cables. Either run them in plain sight, or hide them through the walls.... that's a bit of a problem in some...
Whether SXRD is better than DLP is really up to you to decide. All the technologies have thier downfalls. As for SXRD, Google search "green glob". http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=726242 That pretty much scared me from looking at SXRD's... but the ones I have seen without the...
Composite cables = crap on HDTV S Video = a little less crappy on HDTV Component = Very liveable :D Even airial HD looks better than Composite. (unless I am tuned to a NTSC broadcast, yuck.)
For DLP's, the best thing is to leave them off or on as long as possible before turning them on or off. Frequent on/offing will kill the bulb fairly quick. As far as bulb replacement, get OE bulbs. I've been reading horror stories from people buying chineze bulbs for a "discount" and it was not...
After a relative time, picking up a pair of PSB Century 600i's, a Onkyo TX-DS787, and a Pioneer Elite PD-65... I know I need better cables than the mickey mouse stuff that has come in every box of consumer equipment since 1972 (I say that because my dad has a old RCA interconnect from a 1972...
2199 isn't bad at all... I got mine at HHGregg from a buddy that works there and I got it for 1950... so you probably wont get too much more off looking around more.. I'd also reccomend a surge protector with a UPS (battery backup). The battery kicks in when the voltage is below a certain...
Hitachi knows thier stuff when it comes to televisions. A while back when I was helping a family member get a TV, I was looking at Hitachi's web site describing how their rear projection TV's worked, and it was impressive. Hitachi is not a bad TV by any means. The Pioneer Elite 50" for $8000...
Not sure what HDMC is.. but the HDMI on my 732 will accept 1080p signals... I got a steal on mine at HHGregg for $1950 :D :D And honestly, I don't think there is another TV out there that can smoke this 57 incher, except maybe the Diamond series.....
Probably a good way to get the size you want is do a cardboard mockup of the size TV you are looking at.... that way when you get it home you wont say "I wish it was bigger/smaller."
Sharp is supposed to be one of the best (if not best) LCD manufacturers... that and maybe LG... Sony Bravias are fairly nice in the 42" range.... Also you might want to consider Olivia (cant remember correct spelling). I think that Olivia is a rebadged/repackaged Sony display. My bro-in-law...
I'll try to answer that from a engineer's standpoint on durability and quality... DLP, LCOS, and CRT projectors fall into what I call Rear Projectors (because they project light and images from the back of the TV to the front). Rear Projectors are typically the most serviceable of any other...
Try to find a few old cardboard boxes and mock them up. If you want to simulate TV, tape family photos to the boxes :D Seriously, though. Mockups do work well for some people :)
