well my brother-in-law gave me the hook up, and I got a set of Inifinity 2000.3 bookshelf speakrs, with really nice stands (with sand inside?), sound great! Thanks for all the suggestions and help! I also got an x-sub on order to fill in the low frequencies:D
well looks like it's between the Cambridge Soundworks at $279 with free shipping, and the Onyx X-sub at $244 with shipping. Any suggestions with which one to go? thanks
I saw a couple threads, and seems most people recommend the svs pb10 (at $430), but that is somewhat out of my price range. My stereo setup right now is really lacking in the low bass, so I'd like to get a sub. This is just for music playing, no HT. I would like to stay in the 200-300$ range...
ok, well seems that all the speakers you guys have suggested are rear ported? except the JBL E30, so are those my only choice then? *edit: I was looking around online, seems like there aren't too many front ported speakers - just from looking on the front of the speaker. Do all speakers have...
hmm ok... what does rear ported mean? are all speakers like that? what about the JBL's I mentioned? How do I know if a speaker is rear ported? whats the advantage or disadvantage to a rear ported speaker?
ha haha... I just found out I can move my shelves lower! so sad. so I guess the current contenders are JBL E30 + seperate sub ~300 JBL Arena Venue - 260$ Paradigm Titans ~ 200 Axiom M3Ti - $320 Any others I should be considering? How do the above speakers compare to each other?
hmmm the E30's are also 15inches tall, that won't fit either. Well that's not good. Max I could fit is 13.5inches high. What do I do now haha. Out of the speakers you guys suggested, only the Paradigm Titans fit, but I can't find anyone who sells them online
those JBL 'arena venue' speakers are 260$, do I really need a seperate subwoofer though? 'cause I can always get a sub later edit: hmm looking at sizes, the 'arena venue' jbl speakers are 15inches high, that won't fit my bookshelf - 13inches. So I guess I can rule those out. The Paradigm...
I don't particularly want to go with Onkyo - I read they have almost non-existant customer service? would you mind pointing out the Harman Kardon models you are referring to? Are 2-channel receivers usually better then 5/6/7 channel receivers? any particular reason why to go with a 2-channel...
Looking for a new receiver(posted in the receiver forum) and some new speakers. Budget: $300 for the receiver, $300 for a pair of speakers Target: in a 14x11 room. This means I will not be blasting the volume most of the time. So am I suppose to 'match' up the speakers to the receiver...
Budget: $300 for the receiver, $300 for the speakers This will be used just for the 2 front speakers - not going to be hooked up to surround sound. Not going to be watching many movies. This will mainly be for listening to music. So what do I look for in a receiver? what kind of THD levels...
