Press Release Criterion Press Release: Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid (1973) (4k UHD Combo) (Blu-ray)

Your avatar is now my last standing MUST HAVE movie yet to own in HD. I attended a 50th anniversary screen of Pat Garrett last summer in London in a possible universe signalling move. I hope Ryan's gets a revival showing soon so I can test this theory 😆

Press Release Criterion Press Release: Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid (1973) (4k UHD Combo) (Blu-ray)

I have been waiting for this title forever. I literally screamed as I'd won the Champions League when I saw it on Instagram. I know WAC would have done a good job on the a.v but wouldn't have probably had the budget to do THREE versions. So glad that the preview cut will be included cleaned up...

    Criterion Blu-ray titles!

Ive been waiting with baited breath for Pat Garrett to be announced by Criterion since that Alex Cox leak. I really thought this was the year. Luckily I took in a beautiful BFI print of the preview version in London this summer. Thunderous and clean mono track, far better than the bottch job on...

Star Trek films on Blu-Ray... what we know so far

When I started a Trek podcast about 3 years ago, I commissioned a friend to do a tribute to that Peak art I loved so much. I was also the lone defense of Tmp in our pilot episode back in the day. For Trek blu ray fans we did an episode interviewing Roger Lay Jnr who produced the TNG remastered...

A Few Words About A few words about...™ The Thin Man - in Blu-ray

I'd recommend giving the podcast 'The Thrilling Adventure Hour' a listen for the episodes featuring Frank and Sadie Doyle who are clearly modelled on Nick and Norah. It's a tongue in cheek take on old times radio, recorded live and is very funny. Still waiting for a shipping notice from Amazon...

A Few Words About A few words about...™ The Wild Bunch -- in BD & HD

Given the choice of a remastered Wild Bunch or a blu ray of the Pat Garrett Turner cut with the sound and picture fixed. I'd have to take Pat as I've been waiting for it for 12 years already! In that time I've enjoyed my Wild Bunch blu many times on the projector despite its flaws it sure beat...

EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW OPPORTUNITY WITH CRITERION: We Invite Your Participation

First name, Paul The title I'm most excited to hear news about is Sam Peckinpah's 'Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid' which given Criterion's handling of McCabe and Mrs Miller makes me feel that in your hands this film would finally get a release that would handle the problematic A/V the best it...

Warner Archive Survey for Blu-ray Releases

The Big Sleep, She wore a yellow Ribbon and in the other Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid. I also took the liberty of asking for an update on HD releases of thar and the other two MIA Western classics Ride the High Country and Ballad of Cable Hogue. Apparently not without remastering first and not...

    Tom & Jerry: Spotlight Collection, Vol. 2 - 10/25

In addition to the dialogue replacements on those cartoons already mentioned I believe that the first episode also has an alteration.. In the original version of Puss gets the boot, mammy two shoes tells jasper he is going 'O - W - T, out!' I think the spelling has been corrected in the redubbed...
