I do not have cable or satelite. (due to layoff) Is there an over the air high def dvr recorder out there that works with an antenna connection? With or without a monthly subscription? I have a hdtv but no hi-def tuner.Also would like to record hi def if possible. Please advise.

Any suggestions on speaker wire...gauge, name brand ect. to use connecting Onkyo receiver, Mirage Speakers, Energy Sub. Does gauge make that much of a difference? Any suggestions on cable to use from receiver to subwoofer? (rca connections) Are they all the same or not? Please advise. Thanks. Ron

Already had the speaker checked out by the tech team where i purchased it. They claim the speaker is fine with no defects after they tested it. All i know is that it pops my receiver into protect mode when i use it. I'm going to contact both manufacturers and see what they tell me. Thanks.

Mirage center speaker not 4 ohm. Tried to reconnect it this weekend. Put in Master and Commander blu ray cranked it up and pop goes the reciever into protect mode. Brought back an old technic 2 way speaker connected it to the center channel, cranked it up and played movie with no problem. Sure...

Ted, i understand that sd dvd's won't upscale to hd quality if they are copy protected. Does the picture quality look the same as when played on a standard player when played thru the HD player using the component connection? Ron
