Charles H; In Ebert's "Great Movies" review of Chimes at Midnight, he mentioned that a DVD was being prepared for 2007 release, though I don't know whom by. I'm eagerly waiting it, though.
Just posting to say that we watched a few scenes from this in my English class, as well as some from the Gibson version and the BBC series, in order to compare different interpretations of the text. I saw the ending from this one, and, well, wow. I'd already wanted to see this, but now I'm...

I'll second 12 Angry Men...on the very short list of my favorite movies, the current DVD is a disappointment. Fortunately, the picture and audio are both good, which is most important, but no subtitles or extras is frustrating.
I'd settle for an SE release of The Good, The Bad and The Ugly that didn't force us to watch the two reinstated Italian scenes with the godawful dubbing. Ever since I saw the pristine transfer of that DVD, I can't go back to the regular DVD, which has the superior cut. Terrible decision to have...
I'm a senior in high school so I still live with my parents, and I'm looking for a good TV for my room so that I can watch my movies without outside distractions. 32" seems like a good size, but I don't know much about brands. From what experience I do have, I know that I want: -16:9...
I've always thought this movie was underrated...granted, it's the absolute worst offender of the "enhance!" satellite camera trickery and such, but it has a clever plot, excellent chase sequences, and strong lead acting from three talented thespians (yes, I like Will Smith...so sue me!).
I hope they don't stick with the same brownish-type color for the box of this one. Yes, shallow, I know...but they should stick with the classy-looking poster that the crappy Image DVD offered, on black.
Rich - that's one of my biggest complaints about current period pieces. They seem to bash the viewer in the head with the fact that they're not set in the present. One of the reasons I liked Good Night and Good Luck so much is that it didn't make me feel like I was watching a movie set in the...
I disagree on Chinatown's transfer. It's not Double Indemnity bad (christ, that movie needs a proper DVD release, this is getting ridiculous), but it does seem somewhat soft and grainy and there seems to a be a slight red hue that makes everybody look sunburned. But I'm no technophile.
