Seems it would be cool to check out the new technology. I like new stuff. And winning one is likely the only way I will be able to afford one for a while. :)
Quoted and edited to reduce suckage of the new forum formatting of my original list (din't see a way to edit my original post) --- and don't worry it's way early yet - there's still time for plenty of suckage.... :P
Felt bad for Charlie - was hoping he would make it thru... and SO glad that ZoNut is gone -- can't comprehend why she made it past the first auditions (except for the producers of course). Sure thought Aubrey would have made it thru... Pretty disappointed with the Top 10 -- other than Kree...
I agree Yee-Ming ... seems some of the better talent was passed over for "more interesting" (and I use that term loosely) like that trainwreck Zo-Nut. I do like that Charlie kid... and the strawberry blonde country girl... other than that not a lot stand out or are that memorable. Oh...
Place held for suckage list... :P AND...... Annual Suckage lineup ready to be shredded by "Ameica's Vote". 01. Janelle 02. Angie 03. Burnell 04. Amber 05. Kree 06. Devin 07. Candice 08. Lazaro 09. Curtix 10. Paul Let the carnage begin! :P
I'll be back for my "annual suckage" ... and despite all the BMC'n there are a few talents this year so far. I don't watch the show for the judges anyway - usually FF thru their comments. After all it's "a singing competition" not a judging competition.. :D
Yes - HDMI to TV - just make sure the receiver 'samples' the audio from HDMI inputs - most all newer models do ... while some older model receivers did not (in case you're thinking of buying used).
That would be up to your preference. Could be as simple as a stereo amp with two speakers connected to the TVs audio out ... but you'll likely want something a bit better depending on your budget.
I like the Epson -- but you may want to take a look at the Panasonic 7000 - even better contrast at 300,000:1 - not quite as bright (down about 400 lumens than Epson) but has full power lens and same lamp life. Around $3K street price = about a grand less than the 6010. Epson has THX cert if...
I'd go with the Epson 6010 - it's brighter with better contrast and longer lamp life ... but has manual focus and zoom vs the 9000's power lens. Epson also has a 3 year warranty vs Mits' 2 year.
Thinking I'll be taking a hit with placing Elise at 9th after her rendition of that Zep classic tonite - she nailed it....
EDIT - OOoops = forgot the 'reshuffle' - she's 8th but still little solace there....
You wouldn't need component for the Dish receiver - connect HDMI out of VIP211 to HDMI 1 input on your TV and optical into the Sony. Connect component from component out on Sony to Component 1 input on your TV. BTW - are you aware you can convert your 211 to a DVR by connecting an external USB...
Sound fields (such as Hall, Theater, etc) are gimmicks IMHO. If you set the decode mode to "Auto" that *should* get the results you want by properly detecting the signal and decoding same.
