    Please help...Bookshelf Speaker recommendation

who would think to equalize the mains as well as their sub...i have the Klipsch RB-35's from the Reference line and i'd like to get the top RB-75's with that 8" horn...as i like sensitivity, definition and accuracy above all else, the compression-driven Klipsch fit the bill in spectacular...

BFD or LT for sealed sub EQ?

squash the BFD...you can't set the filters wide enough...however the Behringer FBQ2496 or the DEQ that was mentioned can dig up the bottom without the need for a Bassis, which btw, is a nifty piece of architecture...the way i did it was to set two filters...one at 20 Hz (10 octaves wide/ + 7 dB)...

Sound & Vision article: four subwoofers is better

...and then there are those who want all this performance in a "bedroom"...hehe...hello from Lafayette, La. btw...you should come visit and hear my .45 Qtc. 2x15" in a 1800ft3 room...before i add a third driver to the system!...you need lots of headroom for the "viscious", visceral theatrics of...

    JL Gotham 13"x2 sub!!

the Gotham is power personified...a few months ago, i was looking at putting together a sealed dual 13w7, subwoofer, as this sub has nearly the same Vd as a Tumult 15d2, which is what i was using at the time...in the end, the price and real estate needed just did'nt make the grade...an expensive...

Do you think this might give an SVS a run for the money?

and trust me when i tell you Shannon...even with the ep2500, it is amp limited for sure...the amp is quitting before the drivers at this point...i probably need an ep2500 on each channel...for example, on Master and Commander, i can get to 118 dB (uncorr) before clipping and up to 121 dB with...

I'm finally gonna get an SVS, but I need help picking one.......

stay with a 12" driver if possible...you'll have to retrain your ear once you move on to SVS...the Sony SAWM40 has been noted to be quite boomy and the SVS "may" sound leaner than you are used to but the infrasonics and overall output increase will definitely make you smile...despite what Sony...

    lost in sub research

I concur with the previous posters...hands down!...you'll be doing yourself a disservice by not "seriously" considering the SVS Pb-10...I'm assuming you are looking at a 10" or 8" driver...the SVS is the only way to go at this price range and is the most cost effective 10" vented solution...

    New SVS Sealed Sub

It'll be usable for movies but, depending on the roll off (subsonic filter), may not have the tactility of the vented 12" models which can tune down to 16 and even 12 Hz. The ufw12 incorporates a highpass filter at about 23 Hz, iirc, this results in a *84 dB/octave roll-off slope, as noted by...

    New SVS Sealed Sub

it'll be interesting to see how this sub will compare to the UFW-12...albeit a little above it in price. With such a small cabinet...it does'nt inspire a lot of confidence. How much amplifier power they'll use is another question. The biggest limitation, of course, will be the Xmax of the...

questions about Tumult vs. the big boys...

Where is Mr. Dan Wiggins when you need him? And by the way, he is one smart son of a...! He pretty much laid to rest the myth of woofer speed/transient response vs. woofer size. After reading his technical paper and the "think-tank" battle on car sound & performance forums, i think i'm sold...
