I'm planning on purchasing a PS3 and connecting it via an HDMI to DVI cable to my monitor (720p), and optical to my reciever...My question is, will this even work and what kind of features, if any, will I lose in respects to upconversion and playback on PS3 game titles? Any and all help is...
also, the new 5900 series have an extra set of component inputs (3 in, 1 out) not sure if that would make up your mind or not i' say invest the $50 now and go 7.1, just in case a few months/years down the road, if you'd like to do a simple upgrade to a 7.1 system, you save yourself a few bucks

I hooked up a system running from the HD-DVD Toshiba player to a Toshiba DLP via HDMI, and then ran a fiber optic cable out of the TV to a Yamaha reciever and it seemed to sounds pretty good, although I couldn't tell if it was the new DTS_HD, because according to my understanding, the fiber...
i've heard of there being problems with LG and its upconvert feature on copy righted materials...but i dont know too many details, actually, that makes this post useless
