i did some poking, and i know hulu provides some online content, but are there other online services that provide tv channels via web?
thanks ken.
the 6800 was a fairly fast video card for the time and i am sure it will do fine with the 37" samsung hdtv i will be using it for. i forgot to mention i have a cheapo SB card that may have digital out. i am not planning on backing up my dvd collection on the hdd.

looking to build a htpc from some spare pc parts i have laying around... cable prices are pissing me off (with their poor service to boot).

I have had Win 7 on my core 2 setup since approximately Oct-Nov and setup was a breeze. I did have a little trouble with connecting to the internet as I had an older 10/100 card... but all I really needed to do was hop on another pc and download the drivers and I was up and running.

This is a very broad assumption, but lately I havn't been seeing many good products from ACER. Call me biased, but I wouldn't buy anything from them if I had a choice.
Hey Matt! I think chris from CAF chat could prolly help you with the xover design... if not, there are people out there that are experienced with designing xovers. -Ryan
it should play, mine is > 3 years old and it still works... i would say to check the software. as for dvd burners, there are 3 manufacturers i would recommend: pioneer*, lite on, and nec. the pioneer dvd burner is supposedly quiter than the lite on, but i have no complaints with mine...
win dvr is pretty good recording software, not sure of the other capabilities, but the tv recorder comes in like 10 times clearer than the ati software. edit: i guess you can record vcr and other input sources.

Hi, I just recieved a toshiba dvd player and it died after a disc or two the day after I got it. Taking it back to the store and just thought I should get feedback before looking again. I have heard that a lot of people think the Pioneer low end dvd player is the best, but I have also heard this...
well, im sure there are plenty of people here that can help you set it up and save some cash in the process. you could easily build a nice set of towers for 2000$. plus, once you learn about how it works, you will be able to take what you know with you for future use. :emoji_thumbsup:
i dont have access to a nice table saw, so i use a circ saw for most of my mdf cuts. it seems i never have too much trouble getting good straight cuts.
you will most likely have to buy a new card in order to run all three off you're one computer. i hear matrox makes cards that can do this, and i also hear that people have been doing this with sli in sli capable computers.
