Microsoft ending support for 98 has me worried about finding hardware compatible with the Win98 Se operating system. I went to Circuit City recently to purchase a new DVD ROM Drive for my Win98 based system. At my last visit to Circuit City, there were no DVD ROM drives available at that...
I've received a defective pressing of Universal Horror Classic Movie Archive. Captive Wild Woman will not play on the first three chapters without freezing up. This collection is now sold out.
Well the replacement disc is maybe a little better. As this is an R1 disc, I would think it's NTSC. There are still sporadic pauses every now and then when playing the replacement. I think my set-top player is starting to show its age. This is a 5 disc Sony player, SONY DVP-NC615/B. I've noticed...
I have. I bought all three sets, The so-called "bonus disc" of ANH freezes shortly before the layer change as does the "first disc" of ROTJ. The defect on the ANH disc appears visible. I can see some irregularities around the edge of the disc. I plan to exchange this one soon. Because I don't...
I've had problems playing back one of the sides of Volume 1. Both of my players are Sony's. My 5 disk set top gives me a dirty disk error and the disk will partially play but freezes constantly on my DVD ROM drive. I exchanged this product for another copy at Tower and I get the same issues with...
I cannot play Volumes 2 and 3 on "shuffle mode" on my Sony DVD changer! I get an error message saying that programmed play is prohibited. I presume this is some sort of user operator prohibition. I don't get that report when playing Volume 1 in "shuffle mode" These are otherwise perfect...
It's been a long time since I've seen any of the Davey and Goliath episodes so I'm afraid I can't evaluate them, but I do know I don't remember them as well as I remember Gumby. I remember learning from Gumby, that "toro" was the Spanish word for "bull" I must also say that while it is true that...
Update: Since I like these films so much, I've splurged and bought another copy from amazon. All five movies including Black Friday play perfectly. I did not return it to my local Tower store as it likely that any replacements may have come from the same defective batch.
My "Black Friday" impaired disc was purchased at a Las Vegas Tower store. The "Raven" plays perfectly. Perhaps if I order another copy from amazon, "Black Friday" will play perfectly, but "The Raven" will freeze!
Since I've neglected to do so earlier, I should mention that the Sony player which gags on "Black Friday" is the 5 disc changer settop Sony DVP-NC615. The DVD Rom drive CD-RW CRX300E plays both sides of the disc perfectly. I am interested in knowing of anyone receiving a bad Bela Lugosi...
"Black Friday" freezes on my Sony set top when changing from chapter 17 to 18, but plays fine on my Sony DVD ROM. I've had no problems with "The Raven" I don't think I should return it as I suspect the replacement would do the same. I think my Sony set top does not handle layer changes as well...
