I've been curious to ask about this restoration again acctually since FOX is involved in MGM home video now. Was wondering if this increased its chances at all. Still holdin on to that old laserdisc copy hopin to see this movie get saved properly.

Warner does some of the best remastering there is. If these episodes have been remastered like some of their older movies they probably will look like their a week old instead of 50 years old. If they got the regular tv show on dvd treatment then theres probly nothing improved. They do all come...

Im sure i possibly missed it in another thread but are all these mgm sony rereleases the same crumby transfers? The Graduate, Secret of NIMH west side story Some Like It Hot etc. I see nimh is still full screen. and graduate seems to not be listed as 16x9 so i am assuming there the same. thanks

THis is true too and is the original question i was asking. The dvd does contain a new interview so even if its not a new transfer the compression and all from a 06 pressing may make it better. Other then that i dont know.

Im wondering why nobody has said anything at these Warner chats about the horrible copy of Cabaret that Warner has out. It looks as bad as Return of the Pink Panther....Ill use that as an example. Its not 16.9 its not 5.1 and looks like it was run over several times. It won so many Oscars too...

Nope During the entire scenes I listed maybe every 30 seconds or so , the footage will have this jumpyness to it on and off. Then another cut scene will play and be fine then a few scenes later it goes on again. Very strange but theres definatly something not right about mine.

Has anyone else reported jumpy video on certain scenes on the deleted reel? Namely track 9, 19, 21 and some others? Looks sorta like when im watching Direct tv and is looses a few frames cause of rain or something. It seems to either freeze for a frame then jump ever so slightly. I can go into...

Hasn't this been said about other films like Kane and Kong and others. Then they find other prints and able to make a copy that looks like it was shot last week. It just takes years longer searching across the world for prints. No?

I actually only saw parts of the movie till i bought the laser disc but I think if I saw the theatrical then the extended i would have preferred the extended. I generally always prefer director cuts and extended versions. But both versions should be available to make everyone happy of course...

There's a ton of even more footage that wasn't on the laser disc version on the DVD. Near the end of the extra footage there were entire sequences and alternate takes as well. I would hope that there's some kind of original written account for what goes where if they eventually do it...

Im one of few of my film friends in my age group that knows and loves this film. Unfortunately its the road show version that I only know after buying the laser disc version over ten years ago when it came out. So the current DVD is almost unwatchable to me now. After just watching Simpsons...
