DVD Review HTF DVD REVIEW: The Thief of Bagdad (1940)

I've seen blu-ray players that are not set up correctly. They will play BD discs perfectly but will stretch the picture on regular DVDs. Try changing the settings for aspect ratio on your player.

Letter to ViacomCBS About Old Short-Lived Shows

I'd really like to see the two shows directly tied to the Batman craze. Mister Terrific and Captain Nice.

    Odd objects on Samsung tv

My brother sent me this pic. His 10 year old Samsung 40 inch LCD has some strange objects on it. Anyone seen this before?

Vivendi and RHI Press Release: Laurel & Hardy: The Essential Collection

Maily just how bad all the stuff is although they did actually find some stuff in mislabelled cans. I think they now have the complete camera negs to (I think) Sons of the Desert. They found some of it in cans labelled for Hal Roach tv series episodes. Then of course the almost criminal abuse by...

Vivendi and RHI Press Release: Laurel & Hardy: The Essential Collection

I got to spend time with some of the UCLA guys at the past two Cinecons and they told me many stories about dealing with the Hal Roach library. Very few were what you would consider good news.

    Warner Archive Discussion Thread (FEEDBACK)

At the time that the Warner Archive began, they stated up front that there would be no re-mastering or special attention given to these releases. These were titles that would probably never be released in any way other than this. They would use the best version that was already on hand. Then, as...

Vivendi and RHI Press Release: Laurel & Hardy: The Essential Collection

A Few Words About A few words about...™ Tora Tora Tora -- in Blu-ray

I have read as much as I could find on Pearl Harbor, including Gordon Prange's books, which were the basis for Tora, Tora, Tora. I think it really did get the history right. As for the wooden acting. It really doesn't bother me. I find it lens a touch of realism. This is especially true when...

    A Few Words About A few words about...™ Notorious -- in Blu-ray

Yes, Vanguard is down as the production company but Selznick is nowhere in the credits. These might have been some of his "pacakges" that he sold to other studios. Would love to see all these eventually make to blu-ray, but expecially Portrait of Jennie. Love that film.

    A Few Words About A few words about...™ Notorious -- in Blu-ray

When Selznick and his partner Jock Whitney closed the business, they split ownership of the films. The titles that ended up with Selznick are the ones that ABC Film had and they are still under copyright. The Jock Whitney titles, (Little Lord Fauntleroy, A Star is Born, Nothing Sacred & Made for...
