I also shot them an e-mail and left a voicemail. I haven't heard back either but I suspect they're trying to get some replacement discs ready. I suspect we'll get some kind of response or start seeing return envelopes in our mailboxes sometime soon.
Mission Impossible: "If you're dealing with a man who has crushed, shot, stabbed, and detonated five members of his own IMF team, how devastated do you think you're gonna make him by hauling Mom and Uncle Donald down to the county courthouse"
That's definitely good to hear, thanks for getting a review up so quickly. I was considering dropping by Target after class but was on the fence because of Warner's recent hit-and-miss track record. Ultimately, if the movie looks as intended, without digital tinkering, then I am usually satisfied.
Now that my Bourne Ultimatum is up with the rest of my HD DVDs on Ebay, I'd like Uni to get on the ball with this one. I can't imagine it'll be too long though. Other than Atonement, they have gotten to most of their final HD DVD releases.
Bram Stoker's Dracula, looks like shit, way too dark. The Ruins, not a bad movie but I only really bought it because I was bored over the summer and Netflix had it on a very long wait. Can't see too much replay from it.
I'm late to this discussion but I am absolutely in favor of reviewing what is there and not what is not. Yes, it sucks and is annoying (I see they are continuing the trend, too, for some upcoming titles) but if the DD gets a 4/5 then so be it.
I think this is actually a really good idea. Warner is generally pretty good about listening to fan concerns, which is why this whole thing is surprising. I would be all for getting a letter together and having a bunch of electronic signatures, too. And hey, what are online forums for if not...
This movie is fantastic, I just got the 2 disc and can't wait to watch it at home. It's just one of those that some people just couldn't handle in the theater. The special features are extensive and FD introduces the black and white version (this was on aintitcool a month or two ago, too)...
After avoiding this in the theaters this summer due to pretty nasty reviews and a general feeling that I'd get to listen to a bunch of chatters at the dollar theater, I ended up blind buying the unrated dvd because I couldn't rent it at Redbox. I'm very happy I did. I feel like Part II...
I just finished watching the extended film and am finishing up the doc. in pieces, but I must say that Universal did an unusually fantastic job with this dvd. Likely thanks to PJ, the supplements are fantastic. The a/v is also stellar. I think the disc is worth the price alone for the great...
I saw this last winter in the theater and recently watched the dvd, and the film gets better with each viewing. I was very impressed by the quality of the disc as well. It has great extras and doesn't rely on film clips in the documentary.
From just glancing at my rented copy, I would say it looks and sounds very good. Universal has been turning out excellent transfers lately (Children of Men, Miami Vice, Good Shepherd) so I think you'd be okay with this one. A good number of features too.
I just finished watching this dvd this afternoon. I had seen the movie in theaters so I knew what I was getting there, and it remains enjoyable on DVD. As for the picture quality, it doesn't look that great for the first few minutes. I didn't notice it being as bad as some of you have described...
I assume this is referring to the third movie in the Fast & the Furious series...there is not a regular dvd with a DTS track. I can't speak for the HD release, but the standard dvd only has a (very nice) dolby 5.1 track.
My Best Buy had the two versions mixed. I don't want to give you bad info but, the one disc Divimax is in a regular armary case and the Special Edition is in a cardboardesque case.
I'll definitely be getting this tomorrow along with the bonus disc at Circuit City. I'm not a fan of Redux but can't wait to add this to my collection for the first time. I'm surprised that so many people have been bashing this release, as all the places I go to read dvd reviews have been...
Ridley Scott seems to do a damn good job with extended cuts. I really enjoyed the theatrical and I think I'm going to watch my D.C. dvd tonight. Here's hoping I'll love that as well.
I watched this last night and enjoyed it more at home, as the effects look better on a smaller screen. The tanning bed death
is brutal! I appreciate New Line giving horror fans great dvds like FD3 instead of dumping them onto crap discs. I look forward to watching Kill Shot: Making FD3 and I...
