i actually found a place in ontario selling oppo's for a decent price. look on canuckaudiomart.com and they should have contact information there. can't say anything about the selllers quality
so when i use the component out on my ati x800xl to run to my hitatchi 51f520 and set it up to use 1440x1000 (if i remember correctly it's the resolution most people use on crt's) no matter what i do the wallpaper on my monitor will never fill up the tv. there are grey bars on all sides, someone...
how do the shelves attach to the tubing? i can see the support but do they screw in or slide into place. I really like the way it's supported as opposed to the common threaded rod idea if you could post some close up's of how the shelves sit that would be great as i'm looking at building a rack...
thx for the replies, i've been browsing markertek, etc and yah it most likely would be built with either canare or beldon cable. now i just need to get some free time and finish some of the many projects i've got on my plate :D
so i bought my new tv got it all setup etc however with the room layout i'll be needing some stupidly long cables to connect my pc to it (for gaming, etc). i'm planning on using component as i wasn't impressed with the svideo picture and digital coax for sound. now the question is since i'll...
yah it's currently sitting about 3 inches above to give it some room for air to escape, i've developed a new form of isolation using some old camera filters as legs for now heh
so i had my new tv delievered today and as it's a step up from my old one (20" -> 51") i can no longer use my entertainment cabinet to hold my equipment, as i'm short on funds does anyone see any harm in stacking my dvd player right on top of my receiver for the short run? i know heat could be...
processor and amp is seperate as opposed to a single unit, heh everyone starts somewhere i only made the plunge a few months ago but the more reading you do the more you learn (and want to spend money upgrading :) )
i've got the same receiver, it's served me well this far and will continue to do so until i get the cash to eventually go seperates but that won't be for a long time :)
i found this one in my search http://www.uecweb.com/index.php?p=catalog&parent=1&pg=1 sucks they dont ship to canada cause i'm looking for a new tv and that would have been perfect :frowning:
it will be in my parents basement where my room is, the only windows are tiny and always have the blinds down anyways so i'm not to concerned about glare :P, thx for the quick response
So i've decided to purchase a new tv as opposed to rears soon and based on my budget ($1500ish canadian) I found that most rear projection CRT's are the best choice for my budget as the size of the tv doesnt matter however screen size is definatley a factor (upgrading from 20 inch toshiba)...
i've got a paradigm pw2200 and i like it, i'm no expert but everything i've read shows it being a good sub plus for the price i paid i couldn't go wrong. mind you it's not a great choice if your wife has to see it mind you for $30 maybe you could buy a nice piece of wood and stain it and place...
so after moving my receiver for like the 2nd time i've come to the realization that screwing speaker wire into the back is a pain. So I'm in the search for some quality banana's which don't like totally bad. My findings so far are....(oh yah price is important :) ) Atlona's...
very nice looking cables, just curious which banana's you used on the end there, i'm going to get around to building some customer speaker cables in the future and need some decent banana's to finish off with.
so after finally getting some furniture for my little basement suite i'm looking at moving some things around. right now i have the sub in a corner pointed driver out facing my listening space. with the new setup i have 2 love seats which i will be using in an l shape Think -/| as...
when i auditioned a bunch of speakers i had pretty much decided on atoms as rears (this was with mini's up front) as i couldn't hear that much of a difference between atoms and titans for rears (not worth the $50 jump in price) but started thinking about dipoles. also what is the best way...
so once i get my monitor 5's back from repair i will be picking up my center and rears to complete my setup the center will be a cc370 for sure but for surrounds i'm still not sure the choices are atoms (cheap cost effective) mini monitors (to keep the monitor line all around) OR...
Yah I emailed him about it today, gonna hopefully take them to a local shop to get them looked at tommorow, only problem is I broke my foot last night and now have no way of lugging speakers around with me and have to rely on my dad to shuttle me places.
being new to this i'm kind of hesitant to take the tweeter out but if it's just a matter of taking off the screws popping it out and then popping it back in i could handle that i'm sure, i'm going to take it into a local shop on wed to let them listen and then email the seller after that
