I am hoping one of you may know the reasoning behind this. I searched the forum for the answer and couldn't find it. I recently got an Oppo 721 which upconverts to 720P/1080i. When I watched a movie yesterday at 720P, the movie was fine. However, I watched another a few hours later and noticed...
So I won't have to worry more about speaker placement. To cover dead spots. Also, since I have these extra set just lying around. Might as well use them for something. Any insights would help. Thank you.
Hi, I am new to separates. What I am looking to do is use two speakers for the right and another two for the left since I have all the speakers needed. They are the same model. I also have enough amps to do this as well. I am looking to purchase Y adapters to split the signal to each of the...
I am new to including a power amp to my home theater. My questions are: 1) What type of interconnect cables do you recommend? I am not trying to break the bank. I just purchased a used Acurus A150 to power my mains (Wharfedale Modus One Six). They are rated at 150 watts. As you can see these...
i'm an onkyo fan. i've been since i bought my first one 10 yrs ago and it's still going. as fas as a refurb is concerned i have bought a refurb and have had no issues whatsoever. i have since sold it and upgraded to a 6 channel one and yep another onkyo i bought. it's your call, but onkyo imo is...
agreed...imo - onkyo is the way to go (it'll give you more power than the yamaha also). they are quite reliable. have had three of them: one from the pro logic days that i am now using to power two mains in my bedroom and is 9-10 yrs old and still going. the other is a 5.1 digital/dts receiver...
I am looking to purchase an amp or two to drive my 4 ohm front speakers. I know that these are power amps that fit my budget at around 200-400. But, I need your opinion as to which is better and recommended. The pros/cons would be nice also. DO both cause thumps, fan noises, reliability, sound...
On Ebay they are showing the XLS 402 and 602 B amps. I see on an internet site that they are selling the 602 A amp. What't the difference? Looks like there is a difference of 200.00. A amp being the more expensive one. My apologies, but I am unfamiliar with the different classes. Which is the...
Need some opinions: Are the Samson amps quality amps? How dependable are they and would they last a while? Looking at their S series. Looking at spending around $300-400 on an amp. Thanks!!!:)
The Jamo E805s are rated 4-8 ohms and states it on the back of them. Does this mean that the receiver will drive the speakers at 4, 6, or 8 ohms? What ohms will the receiver drive the speaker at? Hoping either 6 or 8 since 4 is pushing the receiver...LMK. Thanks!!!:)
let's put this in a nutshell...rear surrounds are sometimes lower in volume than the fronts since it is sometimes just background noise. then again, dts or dd make them discreet, but it sometimes is still lower. what i did as many people will tell you is to caliberate the sound. use the avia dvd...
I am interested in the Jamo E805 bookshelves, but they are 4 ohm speakers. Would it be ok to use my Marantz sr8400 or my Onkyo HT-R510 receivers to drive the speakers? The receivers won't blow up will they? I know 6 ohms is ok, but I never had speakers rated at 4 ohms. The rest of my speakers...

Is the subwoofer plug a three or two prong plug? If it is a three prong, go to your local Radio Shack or the likes and buy a three prong to two prong converter. I agree that it may still be a ground loop issue if the plug is a three prong one. I had a similar issue and converting it to a two...
