Is it possible to create digital shots [like you would take a pic with a digital camera] from DVD or video? For example, I used my videocam to record my son's game but I would like to capture certain images [shots] to use in my slideshow or I could be watching a movie on DVD or VHS and would...
Where can I get a pair of the cheapest good 40' RCA cable? I bought one for $6 off Ebay and the freakin' end came off the first time I tried it. I don't need one for continuos use, only for experiments every now and then which is why i don't wish to buy a high end or top quality cable so I need...
My wife purchases movies online which she views on her screen but I for some reason, can't look at a movie on a pc screen so I would like to view the movies on my TV. I don't have any more available slots to install a PCI video card that can transfer my pc screen to my TV. What options do I have...
My rear speakers don't match up anywhere close to the front or center speakers, when I asked a Sony Tech about this, she said that Rear speakers are only there to produce certain "background" sounds so that's why you won't get full volume as the front.
The point I am getting at here with regards to Rear speakers is, if they don't output anywhere near the full volume of the front and center speakers, then what use would they have in an Audio setup for music listening purposes?
I am thinking of getting rid of my exisitng pair of Stereo speakers [3-way 12"] and using a surround setup. I've been told that the "Rear" speakers in a surround sound system will never give the same volume as the front and center speakers in an "Audio" setup so my question is should I simply...
Yes, the couches are parallel to the side walls so we have to turn our heads to view the tv or put out feet up on the couch. I calibrated the speakers with the help of a Sony tech and what she said was that I will never get the Rear to match to the volume of the front/center becuase the rear...
John, I would have to drop the center and both front satelite speakers "way down" to match the "full" level of the rear speakers, is this wise? Charlie, yes, the speakers will be just about 10' or so behind me.
Thanks John but I think I made a mistake here as not nearly as much volume comes out of the rear speakers as the front so if I should place them there we would hardly hear anything.
Just purchased a Sony 600w 5.1 system and hooked up everything to test and let me tell you, this system packs a hell of a lot of power and sound FANTASTIC. Would appreciate anyone's help on this matter though: My living room is rectangular in shape, the room dimensions are 20'Lx10'Wx8'H and we...
I am going to purchase an AVR separately and then look around for a 5.1 speaker system, apart from the Receiver needing to have as you say "Dolby Pro Logic, while inputting a stereo source, with surround encoded into it." Also, I've been told this on another forum: "a receiver that has...
Yes, that is the system Charlie, I guess I don't have the "Terminology" downpacked guys so let me try this, when I say "surround sound", all I want is to have sound from all 6 speakers when I am using either my TV,DVD or VHS, I don't want to be limited to only the DVD/music cd's that come with...
The Video Out from the Audiologic DVD/Receiver is connected to the Video-in on the TV and the Audio OUt from the TV is connected to the Aux 1 on the DVD/Receiver. I bought an "Audiologic" Home Theatre system from Bestbuy, it the cheapest system that I have come across, Audiologic Techs tell me...
I can hear the TV through the Receiver but only on the front 2 satelite speakers, I was told by the company that I will only get the surround sound from either the buil-in DVD player or a music cd, I can't even get the FM/AM stations to play through all speakers. I am wondering if I should get...
I have a TV iwth built-in VHS and DVD players and would like to hear the TV play with surround sound through my Home Theatre System but I was told that only DVD's and CD's will play through the Receiver and it's speakers with Surround sound, is this true or is there any way I can get to listen...
Hey, deeply appreciate the pics, I'm almost in the same situation except that my couches are not at the back of the room, they are at the sides both left and right of the room so my situation would be like the couch you have closest to the right side of your pic only picture that couch in the...
My living room is rectangular in shape, from what I've read about placement of the 5 satelite speakers, 3 goes in front of you facing you and the other 2 in the rear goes on the left and right wall at ear height, problem here is that my couches are "on the wall" and not in the middle of the room...
From the reading I've done, if I undertsand it correctly, you need the "source" of the audio to be surround sound compatible in order to get surround sound is this correct? If so, my question is, if you're using your surround equipment only for "audio" purposes, say only to play cd's or pc...
From all that I've read on the Home theatre/surround sound issue, it seems that you need to know the size [dimensions] of the room you wish to use before purchasing equipment. So ok, you measure your room and now you have the dimensions, what next? How do you know now what setup to purchase that...
How does one go about determining "which" surround or Home theatre system he/she should purchase? Are there "Mathematics" involved so you will purchase one that's right for the "size" of your room, e.t.c? If so, how/where can I get this info please? Thanks.
Appreciate the advice and yes I have listened to what everyone here has to say so it looks like I will have to stick with my four 6x9's in the ceiling, thing is, even if I were to totally seal and soundproof the garage, what would happen in the summertime when I would be hanging out more on the...
