Martin Landau was billed as a "Special Guest Star" during most of Season 1 of MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE. In the second season (and the third), he was a regular.
Let me throw in my 2 pfennings' worth: I was looking forward to Ironside coming out on DVD, and was disappointed when releases stalled after Season 2. That being said, the fact remains that the overall sales numbers didn't justify continuing the series. Shout! isn't in the DVD business as a...
THE AVENGERS episode "Too Many Christmas Trees". Plenty of suspense and humor, and there's a great inside joke in the scene where Steed and Emma are going through his Christmas cards.
Most of these are longshots, but here goes anyway: Dave Allen At Large Department S (R1) The F.B.I. The Fall & Rise of Reginald Perrin (R1) The Goodies (R1) Hawaiian Eye It Takes a Thief The Name of the Game Waterfront At least I'm glad to scratch a couple of last year's shows off...
If I had to narrow it down to 5 shows, my list would look like this: DAVE ALLEN AT LARGE (R1) DEPARTMENT S (R1) THE F.B.I. IT TAKES A THIEF THE NAME OF THE GAME
Seeing as this thread has been bumped, I'll give a slightly updated list: 1. The Baron (R1) 2. Dave Allen At Large (R1) 3. Department S (R1) 4. The F.B.I. 5. Fall & Rise of Reginald Perrin (R1) 6. The Goodies (R1) 7. It Takes a Thief 8. M Squad 9. Name Of the Game 10. Waterfront
When everything is in place, I'll be the one compiling the Boston Blackie movies, the Fox & Crow cartoons, and the non-Three Stooges/Buster Keaton Columbia shorts. Let's hope this idea is a rousing success.
It's posted in my sig, but I'll say it again (in alphabetical order): 1. Cannon 2. Dave Allen At Large (R1) 3. Department S (R1) 4. The F.B.I. 5. Fall & Rise of Reginald Perrin (R1) 6. The Goodies (R1) 7. It Takes a Thief 8. M Squad 9. Mannix (an '08 reality?) 10. Name Of the Game...
I'm also in the camp whose purchases are mostly (in my case, almost entirely) classic titles, so I'm in no great rush. My current SD DVD works, but my TV is getting long in the tooth, so my priorities are different in that regard. For now, I'm taking a wait-and-see approach with regard to...
My list so far for 2008 (I posted this on another thread, but it bears repeating): At Sword's Point Belles of St. Trinians (R1) Cavalcade (an '08 reality?) more Charlie Chan Dangerous Moonlight W.C. Fields, Vol. 3 (with Million Dollar Legs) Harry's War more Laurel & Hardy more Three...

I think the Shemp shorts will pick up right where the Curlys leave off. Where the sales will get tough will be when they reach the remake years (1953-1956), along with the Joe shorts. However, I do expect those sets to still be released for the satisfaction of Stooge completists (like me).
That's actually correct. As a youth, Moe appeared in a number of shorts for Vitagraph Studios, including one with baseball great Honus Wagner. Unless someone finds a copy in their attic, those movies are permanently gone, having been destroyed when the Vitagraph studio caught fire.
I would definitely agree to that. When I grew up in the Chicago area, WGN always showed BB movies on Saturday mornings (its Saturday line-up included Three Stooges and Andy Clyde shorts, the Andy Hardy movies, Bowery Boys, and Abbott & Costello movies in the afternoon). I'd like to see the BB...
That's DUTIFUL BUT DUMB (1941). And while we're on the subject of the early shorts, I agree that WOMAN HATERS is not the place to start for the novice Stooge fan. I may not be in the majority here, but I think MEN IN BLACK is hilarious in a surreal, Marxist (the brothers, not Karl) sort of way.
Revised yet again: AT SWORD'S POINT BELLES OF ST. TRINIANS (R1) CAVALCADE DANGEROUS MOONLIGHT HARRY'S WAR MILLION DOLLAR LEGS TIME OUT FOR RHYTHM THE WRONG BOX the non-Three Stooges/Buster Keaton Columbia shorts the non-Our Gang Hal Roach shorts the Boston Blackie movies the...
The ones I'm still waiting for: AT SWORD'S POINT CAVALCADE DANGEROUS MOONLIGHT HARRY'S WAR MILLION DOLLAR LEGS any Wheeler & Wolsey movies In addition, I'm waiting for a number of B-list series (Bowery Boys, Boston Blackie, Mexican Spitfire, etc.) to come to DVD, as well as the...
Ah yes, I remember the "Every Movie Ever Made" DVD. It came just one year after they released all 190 Three Stooges shorts in chronological order (and in one set, no less) ... and 2 years after the Cubs won the World Series.
