Lots of shows get labeled as the best on TV, but BSG actually deserves that level of praise. BSG single-handedly turned my wife into a sci-fi fan, so the sci-fi geek inside of me owes Ronald Moore a deep debt of gratitude for that feat alone! ;) From what I've heard, we should be getting BSG...
Wow... watching the Wild Bunch on BD is going to be an altogether new experience after meeting Ernest Borgnine! Not to mention probably never having seen it look anywhere near as good!
The strip can definitely make you feel like you are traveling within a herd of cattle. The slow-walkers who gaze up at the buildings and walk three to four people wide are the ones that really get to me... Very impressive with your airport performance! You thinking of moving to Vegas? I...
Absolutely, Paul... it was a pleasure! We saw you last night as you were hauling some serious ass right in front of the Flamingo at about 6 PM... you were flying! Bring on Heroes!
They go into detail about war-torn regions of Africa. The cited advantage of having these extras online is that the information on each country can be updated with new news and information. There is also a polling feature on the disc so that you can take part in community polls regarding your...
Warner gave us a nice demo of Blood Diamond at EMA... I like the concept of the online extras they are working on and I'm curious to see how that evolves over time... As far as the transfers are concerned, I'm not sure how anyone can think that the exact same VC-1 transfer looks better on HD...
noise tends to dance around static objects in the image. For example, if there is a light switch in the background of a scene, noise will swirl around the edges of the light switch and any other static object in the image. Grain is more randomly distributed.
Thanks, Ron... I also revisited a few scenes from the film and noticed no problems with noise. There is some grain, though, which is just fine and to be expected!
Thanks guys for lett ing my know about the 24-bit thing... That was a typo and it is corrected in the review now. As far as noise is concerned, I didn't see that on my 93" screen... I'll go back and triple check it tonight!
This is just the extended version... I had only seen the film in the theater and once or twice on satellite. All I noticed is that there were some fleshed out scenes and the film felt as though it had a little more depth. Nothing really stands out as being a major new inclusion, though...
Glad you're enjoying the Panny, Thomas! Be sure you've updated to firmware version 2.2. With each new fw update, the panny gets faster. I think once you've lived with the Panny for a while, you are going to be more and more impressed with its performance. Enjoy!
I don't think Blockbuster has any plans to scale-back their support of standard definition DVD. If they took the route yoú suggest, they would be doing exactly that.

Lawrence of Arabia is something I am just ecstatic to see on BD. On a completely different level, I'm also excited about Badder Santa. It's simply one of the funniest movies in recent memory.
