I hope that they finish releasing DuckTales, Rescue Rangers, TaleSpin, Darkwing Duck, Gummi Bears, and The Tick (with the two missing episodes!!), and start volumes for Goof Troop. I don't see any reason why they wouldn't finish up the shows they already started, other than they're...
My local Best Buy is about 12 minutes from my house, and I can take the backroads. There was a Circuit City less than a minute from the Best Buy up until about 2 or 3 years ago, when they closed the location and opened another one in the next town, about 30 minutes away, and on a very...
I went to Best Buy today, and when I checked out, asked about price matching Circuit City, and was given a very blunt "We don't price match Circuit City anymore." So, so much for that! I really hope that Best Buy doesn't think they don't have to try anymore since they're the only one...
Good call, I didn't think about them calling. I might try anyways; a lot of the staff at my Best Buy are kinda lazy, most barely even look at the ads. I was considering going to Circuit City to see if they had any good deals, but after reading what everybody said, I'm glad I didn't bother!
I got a flyer for Circuit City in today's newspaper, advertising this weeks new releases. Do you think if I brought it to Best Buy, they'd match their prices? I figure they'd have to since techinically, Circuit City isn't closed yet.
I went to Circuit City tonight, and it is the 9-disc set thats $19.99. But, they only had one copy (of course), and it was kind of hidden, I had to search for a few minutes to find it. I'm glad I did, it's a great price, since their regular price is $74.99! If you want it, I'd suggest you go as...
Thanks for the help guys, now I don't have to waste time going to Circuit City too! :) I wish the studios would price the 2-disc editions the same too; I used to always get them, but now when there's a $7-9 difference, I just go for the single.
Travis, how much is it selling for at Target? My local Circuit City is far away from my Target/Best Buy, and I'm wondering if I need to make the trip out there!
I'm a little disappointed since they said they were going to be priced under $10, but I never thought I'd see Student Bodies, The Whoopee Boys or Jeykll & Hyde...Together Again on DVD, so I'll be getting them anyways!
I completely agree with you! I liked the old look so much better, this just looks like a cheap Photoshop job to me. I'm dissapointed that Anchor Bay decided to change it. It's going to mess up my collection too! I get that the feeling that the change has something to do with sales and trying to...
I don't think using "Stand" would be a problem, since its on the Rhino DVDs, and so is the rest of the licensed music. My guess is that since New World Television co-produced it, Anchor Bay would now own a part of it and Sony might be unwilling to split the profit since it's not likely going to...
The Terror actually first appeared in The Tick comic book in issue #12 so Ben would own the rights to him. My guess is the Molemen episode, since I don't see any pictures from that episode on the box.
Shout! Factory is actually independently owned, but their products are distributed by Sony Music (the same arm of the company that releases Bullwinkle, Underdog, etc.), so they'd have the connections if they did license Punky Brewster.
You can't place all the blame on Lions Gate though. Sure, they're knowingly releasing it cut, but Paul Fusco owns the rights to ALF and he's the one who's supplying them with the cut episodes. Lions Gate is just releasing what they're given, and since it's obviously making money, they're not...
Well, Showtime wouldn't be making any money off the DVDs, only Anchor Bay. Anchor Bay's parent company IDT produced all the episodes, Showtime only came into the picture after the episodes were produced and agreed to air them. Originally they were just going to premiere on DVD. From what I've...
I have a feeling that Anchor Bay might be the company that's holding the set up. Since New World Television co-produced the first season, Anchor Bay probably still owns a portion of the rights. Either that or Rhino still has the rights to distribute it and they're waiting for the deal to expire...
I met Chris Elliott tonight at a book signing, and somebody asked about "Get A Life" on DVD. He said that both he and Adam Resnick have recorded commentaries for it and it's all ready to go, but it's being held up by some legal clearance problems. Not sure if it's music rights or ownership...
Ugh, I absolutely hate that!!! I love to see the original logos, as they were first shown. I've definetly noticed it on Sony DVDs, where they've taken off the Columbia TriStar Television logo and replaced it with the Sony Pictures one. Not only that, but there's a pause in between the end...
If I remember right (I'm at work) the missing episodes are the pilot, "Regarding Henry," and "Famous Last Words." I bought it because it was a great deal and I love the idea of short-lived shows, even bad ones, on DVD as exclusives. I'm hoping that this was successful for them and Best Buy will...
I bought it, but I haven't watched it yet. What sucks about the DVD is there were I think 13 episodes made and only 10 are included. Kind of pointless.
Lions Gate rarely includes inserts, and since the first insert was just the episode listing from the back of the box and the same exact art, they probably thought it was unneccesary to include one. I've been finding that more and more companies aren't bothering to include inserts these days.
