My kids love watching Hazel. Especially my 13 year old daughter. I vagully remember Hazel as a kid. No memory of episodes, I just remember Shirley Booth. So I bought it on a blind buy and I'm glad I did.
My kids agree with me that they just don't make shows like that anymore, and it's too bad...
The extra disc is filled with stuff that I'm hoping they'll release later in season sets anyway. So I'm not overly concerned. I think it's too bad they didn't put extra's on the season sets in the first place. Aside from a couple of commentary's in the first season they didn't do anything...
Road to Avonlea was the title used throughout the series. I guess when they aired it in the states they changed the title. I did tape the show, but I haven't seen it in awhile so can't comment off the top of my head whether scenes have been cut.
I'm afraid for me to play I have to break one of the rules since I simply don't have enough TVDVD's to do it. So I'll only use DVD's that are out. Sunday: - Inspired 7:00 - 8:00 Quantum Leap 8:00 - 9:00 Touched By An Angel 9- 10 - Joan of Arcadia 10-12 - Movie Monday - All About...
I'm not sure when the Brady Kids started but it might have been around the third year. What they could do is with the remaining three seasons of BB they could add a bonus disc of the Brady Kids. As for the rest of the shows, they add up to about 20 hours. They could put them all in one...
In the last season of "Facts of Life" it looked like they were planning to give Lisa Welchel (Blair) her own show, as the head of the girls old school.
I simply can't afford all the ones I want. So here's a short list. Smallville -2-3 Gilmore Girls Lois and Clark Moonlighting Dick Van Dyke Touched by an Angel Doris Day Make Room For Daddy Andy Griffith I Love Lucy Twilight Zone (original) North and South Joan of Arcadia...
I'm a fan of 60's shows. I vaguely remember them and would love to see them again. Hazel is on that list along with My Three Sons, Leave it to Beaver, Family Affair, Ozzie and Harriet, To Rome With Love, The Lucy Show, and Here's Lucy. And I would love to see more 50's shows out too just...
Reasons for TV on DVD: The opportunity to watch shows you may never otherwise see. Sure they may be in sindication somewhere but they're not everywhere. For instance, The Brady Bunch has not been in sindication where I am, and I haven't seen Dick Van Dyke in a long time. My kids are enjoying...
How is this thread related to DVD? Okay, heres how. I want Eyes on DVD. Do you think they will do it now that it looks like it's going to be cancelled after only a handful of shows? Does that satisfy the DVD requirement?
Well I loved Eyes and I recall ABC advertizing it. It was the perfect Wednesday night lineup. Lost, Alias, Eyes. I don't see how people watching Lost and Alias could have not known that Eyes was on after. So instead of Eyes we're getting a dose of Supernanny. Ugh. I deal with my own...
1. Samantha Stevens (Bewitched), imagine having a mom who could wiggle her nose and do anything. And if you had a mom like that it's a good chance that you could do it too. Not to mention all those wild relatives that could take you to neat places. 2. Shirley Partridge (Partridge Family), if...
There's nothing that can be done about lost or destroyed episodes. However, I wonder if they can find the original scripts and remake the series using the same type of mood, same era, etc. Maybe even shooting it in black and white. I realize that doesn't work for pefectionists, but it is a...
You have a point about zooming. I can't seem to find a zoom on my DVD player so I haven't tried it. I suspect there would be a lot of fiddling as the scenes change. As for just wanting the story, did you miss the part where I said I wanted to see the characters and how they react? That would...
There seems to be some contempt from widescreen viewers towards full screen ones. Well, more than contempt, actually anger that someone might dare to disagree with them. Of course the best way to watch a movie is on a 60 inch wide screen with surround sound in a quiet theater setting. But...
Let me ask you, On a widescreen tv does full frame have bars on the sides? By the way, do the black bars and distance from the action bug anyone else? Of course this question is directed to regular TV owners since widescreen owners don't have this problem.
There's a zoom feature on DVD players? I can't find one on mine. Maybe it's on the remote the kids lost. But here's a question. If a show wasn't shot to be on widescreen, why are people wanting it on widescreen? I don't know if DH is or not, I'm just curious. Don't they have to alter a show...
Thank you for the link to the widescreen information. I understand better what everyone is talking about now. I can understand how someone with a widescreen tv would want a widescreen format. I have a regular sized TV and it doesn't look like I'll be getting widescreen for a very long...
I was just thinking about Stark Raving Mad yesterday with Neil Patrick Harris and Tony Staloub (spelling?) It was a funny show that was canceled it's first season. Lots of unfunny sitcoms on TV but the funny ones get cancelled.
But at least the Hardy Boys Nancy Drew mysteries lasted a few seasons. Tabitha didn't even last one season and I don't think it had a cult following. The only thing it has is a weak connection to Bewitched. I do remember wondering when this was on, how Tabitha managed to grow up faster...
I'm wondering, since Image is putting out the entire Dick Van Dyke series in one boxed set at about half the price of individual season sets, will they do the same for the Twilight Zone once all the season sets are out? Would it be better to wait?
This is one of my favorite shows. I think the move to Wednesday is a bad move. They put it opposite Lost. Now Lost is showing reruns right now, but once it gets back to new shows... I'm hoping this show continues. It needs to find a better night. Monday maybe.
Wasn't there two different Adams. I vaguely remember this show, but didn't they start with an Adam that was a warlock and kind of fun and then changed him to a boring Darrin Adam that frowned on everything. How can you tell that I never liked control freak Darrin.
Yeah, lets get rid of Oliver. And speaking of the Brady Bunch, that attic apparently grew taller since in an early season it was only 3 feet tall and Greg couldn't put a room up there, that's why he ended up in the den. So I guess Mike did some reno and they never told us. And the Huxtable...
For Canadians, Amazon.ca has the full set for 215.92 which works out to just over 40 bucks a set. FAR better deal than the 80 for individual sets. And it's free shipping.
The show is still funny! Yes there are some shows that we look back on with nostalgia and love that wouldn't make it now. "Brady Bunch" comes to mind. But Dick Van Dyke is in a class of it's own. Yes it takes place in the sixties, yes it's in black and white. But the jokes and delivery are...
