Do they make RCA female crimp connectors? I want to make some cables with female on one end and male on the other. I'm currently using Canare crimp connectors for the males but can't find the female versions. Any help? Also need to make "Y" connectors, anyone know how? Thanks, Jim
does anybody know where I can get information on each of the calibration screens of the AVIA dvd? I'd like to know what I'm supposed to adjust and what for for each of the screens. Maybe something like this: http://www.ramelectronics.net/html/V...libration.html but for the advance items...
Have any of you use fiber optic lighting in you theater or else where? I've never used it and I was thinking of using it to light my eq. cabinet. If any of you have any experience or know of a good system for this please let me know. Thanks, Jim
I am getting 7 new speakers, but if I have to spend a little more I can just us my RS3 as rear surronds until I can get ones that match the system. Problem I have with most of these speakers is there is no place to hear them around here. So with Axioms 30 day trial they are looking like the...
I have a Pioneer Elite VSX-56Txi, 57H DVR, 2 Infinity RS3, Infinity CC3 center speaker, and a JBL 150 watt sub. The speakers are just what is left of other systems I'v owned so it is time to put some new speakers in the HT room. Room is roughly 15 x 18. I'm considering: Infinity, Ascend...
Went to Home Depot and found the exact cable I needed. So then I just spliced in the wire using crimp connectors (wish I knew of a better way) then I used heat shrink tubing and Tefflex and it looks great and it even works! Thanks for the help. Jim
So, should I just cut the old power cable and find out what wire is inside. Get some new wire and splice it in? What would be the best way to attach the wires together? The power cable is for a Sanyo Z3 and it has a really strange looking connector, don't think I will be able to buy one...
Your cables really look execellent. I just started building my own cables and have had some mixed results. I used the How to article on this site and had problems getting the crimps to hold. I read more and found that I need to adjust my crimping tool. So soon as the new sheelvs come in we'll...
I have some Canare RCA connectors and need pins and sleeves so I can build some cables with them. Does anybody know where I can purchase just the sleeves and pins? Thanks, Jim
I'm trying to figure how to place my cabinet, build one, or whatever....see I'm thinking about putting it against the back wall but then... 1. How do I access the back? 2. Do I run the wires out of the ceiling or down the wall and out? 3. Should I cut an access panel behind the cabinet...
I'm looking at the Pan AE700U and the Sanyo Z3. My room has two options for mounting as the back wall is 15' on one half and 18' on the other half. But if I plug these values in the projector calculator then it say reduce the brightness.
I've been calculating screen sizes and projector placement and keep running into an area where the projector calculator specifies "Recommended lower brightness..." Should I really worry about this? Can I just use economy mode (will this degrade picture?)? My room is only 15' long so if I...
Years ago I put together a system in my house. I had a Pioneer THX receiver, Infinity speaker, and a Velodyne subwoofer. The sound was awesome! My friend that had lots of money in his Yamaha system with Klipsch speakers was oh so jealous. Look around and get what sounds good to you. I just...
Gary thank for the reply to my post. You did manage to bring up a couple of ideas for me. One being setting the projector up right in the middle so I can zoom in or out from there...great idea. Also, the part of it being "too dark or light", I guess and really didn't think about it but it is...
Excuse me but I'm trying to understand how to tweek the projector calculator to come up with the best placement for the project and the best projector for my needs. Which leads me to this question base on the above quote: "If you want a 90" diagonal 16x9 image, the furthest mounting distance...
