oh yes...The Tall Target. The description of the assassination set-up is eerily similar to JFK's. Another great train film right up there with Narrow Margin and Silver Streak.
I'll buy this regardless, but I'd love for this to be a 4K (or 6K) scan of the OCN VistaVision.
I recently bought the Christopher Award Anthony Mann won for "The Glenn Miller Story" off ebay. It's neat to have something he probably touched with his own hands.
Stone said today on his Facebook page the theatrical cut is from the 4K scan.
"Excited to announce that Shout! Factory, today, December 19, will be releasing a beautiful new collector’s edition of our 1991 film, “JFK,” just in time for the holidays. Scanned from the original camera negative...

Unfortunately, I doubt they would be able to. Once they take a title 'out-of-print' I think Kino has to destroy all copies. However, because of the issue with the sound on the one disc, they might still have discs around. You'll have to risk the eBay purchase.
I enabled DV and (in particular) those Hitchcock 4K titles had a very unpleasant look. I disabled the DV, and they looked a lot better. More natural. Less orange/reddish tone and not as rough/harsh overall.
Once again, the double standards with regards to how the media/film nerds handle JFK compared to "Zodiac" makes my blood boil.
"Zodiac' puts forth the idea that ALA was the Zodiac far more forcefully than "JFK" puts forth that Oswald didn't act or didn't act alone. Yet, David Fincher has been...
