HK AVR 130 does not have pre-outs for a power amp. Is it possible to use the tape out? or the coax audio out? Does it make any sense to set up a power amp just for the front main speakers? The speakers I have are Athena AS F2.2. I have the rest of the AS series for center and surrounds but...

Try the Athena AS-P6000 for $299 at Audio Advisor. I have it and enjoy it. If you have a fairly large space, this is great way to go.

I just got my P6000 and it's awesome. I currently have it set on 3-4 out of 10 in terms of volume, and it's great. I hope it lasts more than a year.

They had some technical difficulties and trouble shipping, but they eventually got it out two weeks after the order. It arrived in 6 days though!! WOW! I have to say that their telephone service was excellent. Always someone there to answer my questions, and they were a pleasure to deal with...

Well I bit the bullet and ordered a subwoofer on Nov. 24th. Today is Dec. 6th and I'm still waiting for it to be shipped.

I've had the HK 130 for almost 2 years and haven't had any problems. I am having an issue where my center channel is very quiet with DTS, but I think that's an issue with my DVD player.

To answer questions above.... The speakers are corrected properly. Verified. I have not noticed this with other sound formats. I doubt it is the HK, but I won't know until I switch the APEX. I guess nobody else has noticed this problem in their systems?

Yup, definitely watching DTS material with a digital coax connection. The AVR even displays DTS when it reads that signal.

Everytime I watch a movie in DTS I find that the quiet scenes are too quiet, and the loud scenes are too loud. So if I set a volume to adequately hear the dialogue, the action scenes will be too loud. I'm constantly adjusting the volume between scenes. Is this normal for DTS? So I just have to...

Well I do have to say that the difference I thought I heard was in the vocals. Just not as clear. Overall (highs and lows), I found the sound was just a little muddy if that makes sense.
