Will, I couldn't agree with you more. In all the years I watched GL -- and it was many -- the Joe Bradley/Diane Ballard story was my all-time favorite.
I'm expecting to see in weddings: Reva/Josh (the first one), Phillip/Beth, Richard/Cassie, Harley/Gus, and I hope Kurt/Mindy, although that one...
SoapClassics has finally announced a release of 20 classic episodes of Guiding Light. The press release says it will contain 20 handpicked episodes, divided into four categories: Great Weddings, Secrets and Scandals, Villains and Vixens, and Springfield Through the Years...
Anybody remember the CBS soap "Love is a Many Splendored Thing" with Donna Mills and David Birney? I loved that soap. Don't know if any eps exist but if they do I'd love to see them again in some form or fashion.
Didn't see this posted anywhere around here, but Soap Classics has released a 20-episode DVD of "As the World Turns," including 5 eps of classic villains, 5 of weddings, 5 of ATWT through the years, and 5 scandals. You can go to www.soapclassics.com and watch clips of the eps. From what I can...
Anybody remember this syndicated program? It ran in from '73-'75 in syndication and was one of the highest rated syndicated programs ever. I'd love to see Shout Factory pick this one up.
I like the new Defenders, but it seems to have little to nothing to do with the original. Anyone tuning in with that expectation would have been disappointed. On its own, however, the show is good. Belushi and O'Connell have great buddy chemistry and I like their characters.
The best Christmas movie I've ever seen aired in 1987, called "The Three Kings." It starred Lou Diamond Phillips and Jack Warden, and aired ONCE! on ABC. They never even re-ran it. I would kill to have that one on DVD, especially since I haven't seen it since the original airing.
I am surprised at how much I'm enjoying watching these old episodes, even though most of them are dated. Brolin cracks me up. In his youth he thought shouting constituted being bold.
Why is it that the shows I love don't get released to DVD? It doesn't matter if they were popular, not popular, old, new, etc. I've seen some pretty bizarre stuff get released -- shows I've never even HEARD of -- while quality shows still sit in the vault. Shows that never made it higher than...
I appreciate the response from a Fox insider. It was very kind and considerate of him to address the concerns in this thread.
I don't know if he is still reading it but I would like to ask again about shows like Chicago Hope, and am wondering why this has not been released. I wouldn't...
I'm not sure if this topic has been mentioned before -- if it has, my apologies. I was thinking of some shows that were butchered on DVD and, as a courtesy to fans, should be restored. For instance, one of my all-time favorite shows is Quantum Leap. But I refuse to buy any seasons except...
The only reason I would want this show would be for the musical guests. It was the combination of Johnny, the comedy and the music that made this a superb show. Without the music you've only got half of what made it great. Whoever is licensing it is just plain stupid.
Yep, and I'd rather have that series. Barry Manilow was on it too. Would love to have that episode. Their 1975 series was superior to the one that ran in the late 60s. The only thing to commend that one was their political controversies.
Ah, thanks. /img/vbsmilies/htf/wink.gif Been kind of busy lately and so haven't been posting as often. Also my other computer crashed so it took me awhile to get a new one up and running and get my bookmarks back.
Yes, I am very much looking forward to more of this show. One of my all-time...
Did you not just read this entire thread? Music rights issues are a problem for season 4. Most companies won't tackle those kinds of problems. I would think the 4th season would be the MOST profitable for them. "Johnny Angel" was a monster hit for Shelly Fabares. I think she may have also sung...
