While my son was playing the game I noticed how the surroundings reminded me of Blade Runner. However, do we really need another movie where an experiment that has gone wrong shows a world full of infected ones?

Visually, I think the film is anything but straightforward. The glowing eyes is not part of the plot. In my book, any idea that evokes debate and discussion ad infinitum is a good idea. Alex
Fact: the author has put the reverie sequence in the film solely to suggest that Deckard is a replicant. And frankly, when we look at all the suggestions, it is the only logical conclusion. BTW, every other (mythical) interpretation is not in line with the straightforwardness of Gaff's other...
Someone mentioned he needs "evidence". Why? Blade Runner would be a different kind of film if it provided the audience with "evidence". Blade Runner does however have a strong visual narrative which is endlessly more powerful than its verbal narrative. Many visual clues have already been...
Sean, here's another possible explanation for Deckard's physical weakness: A replicant that knows that it's a replicant will not hunt its own kind. It has to believe it's human in order to fulfill its task! Give it special strength and you'll take away that belief. Then why is Deckard is...
I recognize the author's intent, I read the clues and I agree that all of this leads to an inescapable conclusion, namely, Deckard's a replicant. However, I do feel that the unicorn reverie is forced upon the movie and I strongly believe that this is the main reason why there are two opposite...
Alien and Blade Runner are such landmark classics that I think every studio wants Ridley to come back to the genre. He recently said he's open to the idea but that it all depends on whether he can find an interesting script. It will be interesting to see Ridley doing another sci-fi, mostly to...
People like to get interactive with their CDs too. They change the order of tracks, they skip and delete parts they don't like. They put John Williams and Led Zeppelin on the same playlist. Nobody finds that disrespectful! It's not always the case but music can be a journey too. The composer...
No, I certainly wouldn't go as far as "unlimited cuts", just some of my above proposed options will do. I can imagine that it's indeed overkill to someone who is perfectly happy with a certain cut but there are plenty of fans who, for instance, want the voiceover but not the "Happy Ending" or...
Believe it or not but there are many die-hard BR fans out there who are not entirely satisfied with any of the 5 versions. The best and most complete release of Blade Runner should include a way for the fan to make his own cut. I think we already have the technology. The interface/menu should...
I've heard something rather disturbing today. Supposedly one of the key persons does not appear in the Special Features section, namely, Vangelis. Strange, I remember they said everyone was on board and that a gazillion interviews were taken. How can they forget about the man who gave Blade...
DVD Review Magazine about The Final Cut 5-disc set: This is perhaps the best DVD package yet released, it's that good.

Vangelis will not deviate from his original concept. All 3 CDs, even the second one, will include voices or spoken word. The reason for this is that Vangelis wants to maintain continuity and thus ensuring a cohesive listening experience.
This could be fantastic news, guys!
From Elsewhere (a very trustworthy Vangelis site):
The upcoming Blade Runner release...
Although final confirmation has yet to come in on this, fans will be glad to hear rumors within the music industry are buzzing frantically about Vangelis' upcoming Blade...
Yes, Vangelis' score is the star. I noticed how refreshingly different his music (still) sounds. Imagine how Blade Runner would've been ruined if it had one of those generic Media Ventures scores! Vangelis saw and understood the sad poetry of this film and was somehow allowed to record his...
Well, this is good news for all U.S. Blade Runner fans! It's going wide!
10/26 - Seattle (Cinerama, Seattle - 35mm), Washington D.C. (Uptown, D.C. - 35mm), Portland (Cinema 21, Portland - 35mm), Salt Lake (Gateway Megaplex, SLC - Digital)
11/2 - Chicago (Music Box, Chicago - 35mm), Santa...
Well, that's probably because Ghent feels more like a real city where people actually live. Bruges, no matter how beautiful it is (and it really is!), suffers a lot from tourism, in my opinion. It's utterly amazing, and yet the atmosphere feels artificial, it's almost like walking through Disney...
Last Sunday I've seen The Final cut at the Festival of Ghent. Despite the late hour, the turnout was pretty impressive, only the first 4 rows remained empty. It was sold out the day before.
I've never experienced such a serene public before. There were 15 long seconds of silence (black...
Don't you feel it lessens the urgency of his quest? To me, "fucker" means Roy's time to play is almost over. It's a very important moment in the film. Now, at last, Batty means business! BTW, "father" is unscripted and was merely a clean alternative meant for TV. I think we understand the...
Not according to this. Below the page, the comment and the conversation sound rather alarming.

The Final Cut is on pre-order at play.com (UK). The big surprise here is that the 5 disc edition comes sans briefcase. Are there no briefcases left for Europe? The price is incredible though.
