    The Girl Can't Help It

I remember reading an article in an audio/video magazine in the early 90s about missing stereo soundtracks for Fox 50s and 60s films. Someone from Fox Video was being interviewed, and he was saying how they were having a hard time locating the stereo tracks for TGCHI (and a few other titles)...

HTF Review: The Golden Girls (complete first season)

I also wrote to BV after RobertSiegel gave us the address to complain to. BV replied saying they would investigate and get back to me on this issue, but they have yet to do so (many weeks later). My feeling is the 'mono' on the press release for Season 2 is just a mistake (errors on sound...

HTF Review: The Golden Girls (complete first season)

Sorry Shawn, gotta disagree on that one... Like I mentioned earlier, listen to the fifth episode (Job Hunting) on Disc 3 with headphones or on a surround system, and skip ahead to chapter 4. The mono sound switches to stereo for about 30 seconds, at 7 minutes (end of chapter 3 and beginning...

HTF Review: The Golden Girls (complete first season)

It unfortunately is the sad truth... I have the first season on vhs and everything is definately in true stereo. I agree, they should offer replacement discs to those who want them. But I doubt that's going to happen... Let's hope they get the sound right on Season 2.

DVD Review HTF REVIEW: The Nutty Professor - Special Collector's Edition (Recommended)

I'm happy I'm not the only one hoping to see "Who's Minding the Store?" on dvd some day. I think it's one of his best and funniest! No doubt it will be in the second wave of Lewis titles. "The Typewriter" sequence is a classic (would sound nice in 5.1). Speaking of sound, I find it great when...

The missing trailer thread and where i can find those missing trailers

When renting a DVD, I have always loved watching the trailer after the movie is over (and my wife goes "Why bother?!! We just watched the movie!" every time. Well I sure as hell won't watch it before, it usually give away too much of the plot!). In the days of LaserDisc, I would always...

HTF Review: The Golden Girls (complete first season)

You did?! That is too funny! I remember most of the people were requesting Bloopers and Outtakes as special features. And we ended up with Joan and Melissa instead. For now anyway... And yes, commercial free, and most importantly, UNCUT! I still find the stereo thing really irritating though...

HTF Review: The Golden Girls (complete first season)

Andrew, you are so right. The girls poking fun at themselves would be way better, and not at all insulting. I imagine everyone reading this must have signed the on-line petition to have Golden Girls released on DVD (there was something like 16000 signatures!), I guess we should start another...

HTF Review: The Golden Girls (complete first season)

Concerning the MONO sound, here is a bizarre one: If you play episode 5 on Disc 3 (The episode is called "Job Hunting" ...I think). The episode is mono, but from about 7:00 to 7:30 (end of chapter 3 and beginning of chapter 4), the sound suddenly switches to stereo for about 30 seconds. The...
