"From what you say I get the impression she’s looking for people who are more interested in the room (aesthetics) than the equipment" well isnt that what an interior designer does? she would help the homeowners with the whole process. "However, the folks more along the line of what...
brentl, do you use that thing? first off, there are NO RCA jacks on it at all. its all mini jacks. plus it needs an extra box for 7.1. Why would you suggest this? im kinda surprised, especially if you say its a FANTASTIC value, i have never seen anyone else here use this or even speak of this.
"Sam - what I meant was proper speaker placement, proper screen size for the room, proper seating distance from the screen and so on. Not using too many hard reflective objects (live room) or too many sound absorbing objects (dead room). I dunno, maybe things like proper lighting...
move them farther away. if not possible, face them away from the listener. or buy dipole, tripole speakers. Ive seen surrounds facing up so the sound hits the ceiling first so it diffuses the sound first.

thanks dave, yes she is definately trying to appeal to the WAF, but I dont think that she would take any job lightly and just throw stuff on the wall and ask for money. she does her research.
thanks richard, but I highly doubt the 100 watts per channel will be as clean as the power ams im getting. i want an all in one unit like that but i know it wont sound good [at very loud levels which i love to listen to]. i need to have my HT setup by thanksgiving and im ordering...

"The idea of a dual sub system is kind of what velodyne is doing with the 1812 sub" OK sure, can you loan me the $ for the friking sub? haha that sub is quite expensive. "Sam A what pre/pro or receiver are you using? In my case I use a Bryston SP 1.7" right now i have nothing. im going...
mono mini jack to rca converter should work to get a wire from PC to digi coax in on your sony. if that doesnt work, try the HTPC section of HTF. I want to know if youll get 5.1 or just stereo from watching moivies that way. PS - I just read another thread saying that the digital...
so i just need to break up with my girlfriend then and win the lottery huh? Im most likely getting 2 B&W bookshelves for mains with matching center, so the bass will be lacking. since ive demoed speakers, ive always loved the room shaking bass, different than the chest thumping bass im used...
