So which studio will be the first one to combine it all - non-anamorphic widescreen, sped-up, syndicated episodes in the wrong order with replaced music? The way things are going, a set like that is just around the corner.
They have three double-sided DVDs and only 22 episodes - there's no reason why there should be any space problems. Four episodes per side is pretty much the standard.
Here's the review: http://www.dvdtalk.com/reviews/read.php?ID=17208 So unless the reviewer is a complete idiot (which I don't think he is) the boxset is the biggest joke in recent TVonDVD history - which is saying a lot considering the crap that studios have been releasing.
The DVDTalk reviewer has received his copy of the set and he has posted on their board that the episodes are in NON-ANAMORPHIC widescreen. At least I can stop worrying about the music issue now. I wonder if TVShowsOnDVD.com will have a post about this - they've stopped reporting anything...
If they've already made a new transfer for the HD-DVD then I'm pretty sure that we'll see a new "normal" DVD release too - that way they'll make at least some money from the new transfer.
I've read that they didn't have the actor for the first ten episodes and when his pilot failed they reshot some scenes with him and inserted them into the already finished episodes. That's why he wasn't in the cell with the president, that's why the soldier guarding her got her her medicine...
Six months until the theatrical release and the director is already talking about the extended cut:
From http://movies.monstersandcritics.com...olution?page=1
I've read that there isn't really a 4 1/2 hours documentary on the LD but that all the extras combined (Documentary, Deleted Scenes, Trailer, Rehearsal, Storyboards, Bloopers, SFX featurettes) run 4 1/2 hours - if that's true then it should be no problem to put the shorter extras on side one and...
This is turning into a monologue instead of a discussion - but this is my last post on the subject. I emailed them again and this time I got another great answer:
Since there would be no need to keep information about music replacement "confidential" if there hadn't been any, I'm going...
But when was the last time we got an extended version of a movie as the first release? And please stop the F4 bashing - compared to that pretentious cure for insomnia called Batman Begins it was a masterpiece.
From http://www.homemediaretailing.com/ne...rticle_id=7814
I liked F4 a lot - it was a fun little movie which never tried to be anything but a lot of fun (unlike Spider-Man 2 which tried to be an Ingmar Bergman film and ended up being an overlong Dawson's Creek episode with special...
The Universal site for the real boxset has been updated. The extras on disc five are now listed as: # From Miniseries to Series # Change is Good # Now They're Babes # The Cyclon Centurion # Future/Past Technology # The Doctor Is Out (Of His Mind) # Production # Visual Effects #...
Here's a review: http://www.currentfilm.com/dvdreview...teenurdvd.html The only extras that are missing are the two commentaries - which means I'll have to keep the original DVD because the cast commentary is great.
Here's the official page with all the info: http://homevideo.universalstudios.co...?childId=35644 The miniseries is on the first DVD - the extras from the miniseries are on the fifth disc. So it's not just the same set with the old miniseries DVD thrown in. A lot of people are going...
I don't think there will be an extended version - the Deleted Scenes include the scenes with the female demon that Constantine has a relationship, but they can't really be put back into the movie. Two cut scenes with her feature the exact same dialogue - once in bed, once in a bar and two...
