I won't be buying this either. I've already double dipped too many times and paid premium prices for all the Star Trek series on DVD. No Blu Ray, just HD-DVD, double sided discs, and still an unacceptably high price. Paramount, you can keep your HD-DVD discs.
I'm in the same boat as you are. Very confused about what type to purchase. I was all set to buy a panasonic plasma set, but circuit city screwed up so bad with trying to ring up the sale that I walked out. Now, I'm back in the LCD camp and here's why.... I currently own a Toshiba 34inch...
Here's one for ya....Starship Invasions. Christopher Lee and Robert Vaughn. Very cheesy but ok movie from 1977. I wish they'd put this on DVD. I only have a crappy vhs copy taped off of tv from the 70's.
Well, I hope Universal is paying attention to this thread because I too think the packaging is awful and I am damn tired of DVD18 discs. I guess I'll put the discs for season two in paper sleeves and just leave them in the season 1 box set... I was also unhappy with Buck Rogers and Battlestar...
I too have had a problem with Universal discs. Battlestar Galactica the Original Series. Disc2, Side 2, one episode had major problems. At first I thought I had scratched the disc myself from way back when...but I didn't see how. So...I bought another copy from Best Buy, the only set they had...
Well, I've done some more recording and found something interesting... My two mintek players, for some recordings, does not like it when a burned dvd has chapters in it. The Sony dvd recorder is capable of doing 15 or 30 minute chapters, and when I had turned this option back on, I noticed...
Hello again, Well, I've been experimenting a bit more lately with my sony recorder. Here's a list of players that I have: sony - first generation dvd player Toshiba - standard 2 dvd tray dvd player Mintek - standard dvd player Mintek - portable 7 inch screen dvd player Toshiba - new...
Hello, I'm a newbie to dvd recording and I started out by buying a 200.00 pioneer recorder to basically replace a vcr. Well, the dvds had a ton of problems playing back in other dvd players. The recordings would kind of pause, almost like going into freeze frame, and then continue on. Its...
These guys are in Dartmouth Massachusetts, far away from you, but an authorized denon dealer. Its where I buy my ht equipment...from my Denon Receiver to my turntable phono cartridges. http://www.sound2audio.com/
Soooooo? Fox Studios? Any idea when we can expect season 3 now that I have seasons one and two? And...given the choice, please don't split season 3 into two sets...the wait was terrible. ;o)
Well, if there was only one choice, I'm glad the theatrical cut of this was chosen. The opening sequence is great and the "shit" exclamation when Tigerman tries to take Buck out lol. Much rather have this than the tv version if it was one or the other. I'm very greatful that they put both...
Ok, my original list had ReaderAV, movie collector, and DVD profiler. I have also looked at free programs like movie tracker and movie organizer. DVDprofiler does not have an import from text file feature. Movie organizer is free, and it automatically searches the net and loads in covers, but...
Hi Dave P, Well, crunchy media's DVD collector has gotten much much better since the last time I tried to use it a year ago. Some major improvements on my wish list have made it in. It can't do a batch process for finding movie information on-line for all the entries imported though...can it...
I list them all alphabetically for the most part. The big use I would have for it is to do a search on a certain actor to see how many movies I own that that person happens to be in, or to sort them all by genre, etc. But, with 676 entries in my database as is, and wanting to input all this off...
Hi, Right now I have 676 entries for movies/tv shows in my lotus notes database which I had created back in the day. Obviously this software doesn't hold a candle to software written specifically for cataloging movies. So, which do you use? The three I have looked at so far are Movie...
Nope, haven't seen any reviews, but I did pick them up at best buy today. There wasn't even a separate display for them. They were just put in the horror section by alphabetical order, so I had to look around for them. I also shook each set, because some of the dvds were once again rattling...
Hi everyone, I've searched high and low for an existing thread on the Universal Monster Legacy Gift sets, but couldn't find an older thread. So, I apologize if there was one and I didn't find it. In any event, I've looked at a few different sites, and I see the dvds for preorder...Mummy...
Ok, so...what do people think about the video quality of these episodes. Every episode on season 2 volume 1 had very visible and annoying horizontal scan lines in them. I was sort of disappointed by the quality since it is a show that I love.
Hi Allan, But what about component vs HDMI? Does my toshiba hdtv do the upscaling to 1080i or 720p with a progressive scan dvd player using component? Do the hdmi dvd players that upconvert/upscale the picture to 1080i or 720p via hmdi worth the extra money, or is all of that already...
Well, Previously, I had a loewe planus 30 inch tv which stated that it was "digital". What that meant was that the tv would upconvert any signal to 480p, the highest resolution it could display. And the tech support guys said that because this tv upconverted signals and had a line doubler...
Hi everyone, I've read a couple threads here and their links about upconverting and scaling and what not, but now, I'm more confused than ever. I bought a Toshiba 34 inch cinema crt which is high definition and it comes with hdmi ports on the back. I also bought a toshiba progressive scan...
With the advent of The Munsters finally making its way to DVD, I would really love the Addams Family to make its way to our favorite format too. Is this already in the works?
Has anyone noticed any other problems about this release? I'm just curious because of what happened to me. On Autumn Croakus, I received a disc error from a DVD player at work (Onkyo), but at home it played fine on my Toshiba SD-2200. At home, on the episode of All Star Munster, there was some...
