Thanks Michael, that's actually the best advice I've gotten so far. At first I was just curious if anybody had really ever noticed a difference. Then I was curious if they had the same opinion regarding wire/interconnects. Just looking for experiences, not absolute summary verdicts.
I don't suppose I should be concerned if Best Buy lists the model as the VSX-1014 while Vann's and Pioneer's own site have it as the VSX-1014TX-K? Would this receiver go well with the Denon DVD-1910 (whenever it becomes available)?
Mike, if all else fails, you still have the option of going with Powerleap. They make adapters for INTEL products but plan to expand in to AMD soon. Basically their adapters let you use newer procs with older mobos.
