I read, long time ago, that Mann has a no-P&S written into his contract. This might be true. If so, Dreamworks would probably release a P&S, if they were legally allowed.
I'd really be up for a Quadrilogy-type box-set -- a brilliant idea! However, would Warner be willing to let the true story be told, concerning all the changes they forced upon the last three films?
I've never had a problem with them, or anyone except the national postal service, for that matter. And you got hit with a custom charge? Unlucky. I thought Ireland was magically exempt. Really, I've ordered a ton of DVDs, box-sets, a DVD player, an iRiver, and never, ever got done by them.
The cut will be the theatrical cut, most likely. I've seen the director's cut, and the changes are barely noticeable, running at 7 or so minutes. Anyway: Something has changed in regard to importing HERO. A few weeks ago, Miramax had barred all foreign retail sites from selling it, because...
Sounds good. New transfer, new extras, and original mono. Plus, that scrapbook thingy. BUT, didn't Kubrick wish for the aspect ratio to fluctuate between 1:66 and 1:33? I just think, after how many DVDs this has had, someone could get it right.
I agree, this is sad. To think, this guy is missing out on Felini, Kurosawa, Ozu, Truffaut, Tarkovsky, Bergman, Godard, and Melville, because of simple ignorance.
I order mine Saturday night, and received it this morning, via CD-WOW!. Within three working days--not bad! It cost 17 Euro, so that'd work out around 21 dollars, I think.
