KILL BILL: The multiple versions thread (6 from Miramax; Japanese, SEs, etc.)

I think it was more a case of him being tired of watching the movies.

    Two new Criterions in April

There's another title coming, because there's a gap in spine numbers. Hopefully, Mr. Adakin.

Collateral - full specs (incl. extras)

I read, long time ago, that Mann has a no-P&S written into his contract. This might be true. If so, Dreamworks would probably release a P&S, if they were legally allowed.

Exorcist: The Beginning announced on DVD from Warners on Jan 4th

I'd really be up for a Quadrilogy-type box-set -- a brilliant idea! However, would Warner be willing to let the true story be told, concerning all the changes they forced upon the last three films?

When is MGM going to step up their DVD efforts?

I'm glad you mentioned Love Streams. It's really a masterpiece, and in desperate need of a release.

    Ups Ireland a disgrace

I've never had a problem with them, or anyone except the national postal service, for that matter. And you got hit with a custom charge? Unlucky. I thought Ireland was magically exempt. Really, I've ordered a ton of DVDs, box-sets, a DVD player, an iRiver, and never, ever got done by them.

Hero (Jet Li) - DVD on 11/30/04

The cut will be the theatrical cut, most likely. I've seen the director's cut, and the changes are barely noticeable, running at 7 or so minutes. Anyway: Something has changed in regard to importing HERO. A few weeks ago, Miramax had barred all foreign retail sites from selling it, because...

The question of dubbing (The Passion of the Christ, and others)

No, it wasn't their original attention, and while not ideal, is the lesser of two evils, compared to a dub.

CTHE Press Release: Dr. Strangelove 40th Anniversary

Sounds good. New transfer, new extras, and original mono. Plus, that scrapbook thingy. BUT, didn't Kubrick wish for the aspect ratio to fluctuate between 1:66 and 1:33? I just think, after how many DVDs this has had, someone could get it right.

The question of dubbing (The Passion of the Christ, and others)

I agree, this is sad. To think, this guy is missing out on Felini, Kurosawa, Ozu, Truffaut, Tarkovsky, Bergman, Godard, and Melville, because of simple ignorance.

    The funs almost over.......sorta

If you're passionate about film, the fun will never be over, plain and simple. There is so much to see.

Dawn of the Dead (2004) - R3 HK

I order mine Saturday night, and received it this morning, via CD-WOW!. Within three working days--not bad! It cost 17 Euro, so that'd work out around 21 dollars, I think.
