I'm using the 2910 with a Toshiba 51HX83. Incredible PQ through DVI. But I just noticed a very slight stutter/jitter with the picture once every 30-60 minutes or so. Nothing major, but it worries me about possible future problems. I have not used DVD-A or SACD yet, since I already have a...
Any one use the R2s as surround speakers? I have the R3s but they are just too big for my room and they seem to overwhelm my 2.1s (especially only multi-channel SACD playback), so I'm thinking of replacing them with the R2s.
Just got my Swans (Diva 2.1, C-3, R-3, Sub10) and love them. Incredibly well built, sound warm/neutral, no distortion (especially with SACD). I really love the dipole R3s (they weigh about 30 lbs each). Worth every penny.. quite a bargain for a complete HT speaker system under $1500. Great...
Does it really matter what 16 gauge speaker wire you use? Is it all just hype (Monster Cable, etc.) or can you really tell the difference enough to justify the extra $ for a brand name?
I have the 2003 Toshiba 51Hx83. For this TV, which do you recommend? I'm looking at the Zenith DV318 ($200), the Pioneer DV-59avi ($1,000), and the Denon 2900 ($700). Big price difference obviously. Also, no interest in using it for anything but DVd movies, so SACD, etc. is not important.
Does anyone use a DVI splitter to input two DVI sources to theit TVs? How does it work? Is it an A/B switch set up that you have to reach behind the TV each time to change or is it automatic based on input? I'm trying to decide if it is worth the exta cost to run my HDTV satelite and my DVI DVD...
I curently have the Denon 1910 and I'm very happy with PQ through DVI, but that one DVI slot on my RP HDTV will be used for the new HDTV Tivo Satellite soon. So do you recommend the 2900 or the Zenith DV318 without the firmware upgrade that prevents upconversion through component?
I curently have the Denon 1910 and I'm very happy with PQ through DVI, but that one DVI slot on my RP HDTV will be used for the new HDTV Tivo Satellite soon. I'm going to buy the Zenith to compare... where can I be sure to buy the Zenith without the firmware upgrade that prevents upconversion...
What's the best PQ through component on a DVD player under $1,000? I'm now using my DVI input for my satellite HDTV. So it's back to component DVd for me. Any recommendations? I've heard good things about high end Denon, Pioneer, Panasonic.
I just bought the Yamaha RX-V750 receiver to go with my Swan 2.1, C-3, R-3, and Sub 10. Does this receiver have the right specs to properly power these speakers? I heard talk that Swans require a "high current receiver," whatever that means.. Here are some of the Yamaha specs below. Is this a...
I'm looking for a separate CD player because my new Denon DVD-1910 has trouble playing Cds I've burned from my computer. My old Sony DVD player played everything w/o problems.
You are correct about no upconversion with the component, only DVI. My mistake. But the problem remains. No better PQ with DVI at 1080i than my old Sony non-progressive. Any suggestions how to get a better PQ here?
I have a Toshiba 51HX83. I had an old Sony non-progressive DVD player. I just got the Denon DVD-1910 but do not yet see any significant upgrade in PQ with 1080i through DVI or 720p through component yet. Any suggestions on how to improve PQ? I've read the following on some forums: 1...
Does anyone actually own one of these? Most other forums recommend skipping the Swan Subs and going with SVS, HSU, or Outlaw. I'd like to get the Swan Sub for cosmetic reasons (matches my other Swans), but only if it is a solid sub.
Which sub do you recommend? I just ordered Swan Diva 2.1, C-3, and R-3s. The room is 14x14 with 10 foot ceilings and no left wall. I will primarily use this for movies. I don't need to rattle the windows, but I do like a nice, clean, low rumble when watching films. I've narrowed it down to...
I have Swan Diva 2.1, C3, R3s, and SVS 10" sub (5.1 setup), used primarily for home theater, in a 14x14x10 room. I heard the Pioneer 1014 is very close in quality to the Elite. But I got raves about the Yamaha, especially its YPAO and ability to convet S-video to component. Any...
My room config requires me tio put the surounds on a flat wall 5 feety over my head. Will the QS8s work good for that, unlike other di-pole surrounds that need to be open in the back?
I don't think my room config is not good for the Swan R3 bi-di-pole surrounds. Any surrounds would have to be mounted at least 5 feet directly above me on a flat wall. So what do you recommend for surrounds? Should I just go for another system that dos nmot have special surrounds?
