I have heard the F12 and , indeed, a wonderful speaker. I haven't been able to compare and contrast to other offerings in my store, as we sold them off the floor , twice.
probably true, or just buy quality sound without digital video switching and deal with that later (if ever)..component video looks great to me, in fact, better, right now,in most cases, than digital connections.
Processing quality yes, pre-amp quality dubious. The digital sections are quite impressive but the analog quality, design and signal path are not up to stand-alone standards and the last sound that comes out of the pre-amp section of a receiver is what the seperate amp has to work with. Many...
EVERYONE used to have a dd/dts "ready" receiver, which now , with the right universal dvd player can also do dvda & sacd , albiet with 6 analog audio cables...then everyone said "digital connections must be better right?" and we purchased a rcvr that had dd/dts processors in the rcvr...then we...
I spent a few days in Kansas courtesy of Gayle and his troop in the latter half of last year , listening to ML'S PLAYED WITH ALL SORTS OF RIGS, in all sorts of rooms, with all kinds of music. It was spectacular, especcially the Statements in Gayle's Home! They had just come out with the Mosaics...
"Price above all" shoppers (I'm not saying anyone here) have led many higher -end retailers to only deal in protected lines and not discount much....I think too many of them just abruptly dismiss the customer who is trying to find a strong discount because experiance has taught them that they...
You will never get much agreement on esoteric amps OR esoteric cars in so far as how they compare on a quality level on what would be a familiar , but exotic brand...too many people convince themselves that because brand "x" is SOOO unobtainable and unrecognized by everyone else , it is more...
I like the 20's as well , but after demoing some mini monitors and focus' last night and being quite impressed, I will surely take more time with the other "lines" as well.
Polk is a HEAVILY protected line, it is done to support the dealers who need to cover the associated overhead costs of maintaining a demoing environment. I don't think you'll have much luck on-line (legitimately) as they have sued Crazy Eddie , and others , for substantial amounts of money for...
To me that seems more than reasonable to have made one very large jump in amplification along with the addition of many great features and 2 new versions of Pro Logic (II and IIx). end of quote Not bad I guess, just that the end result is that you now own a receiver that is worth what? I...
Seems like a lot of lateral moves to me.....what has been your total investment from start to finish...be completely honest, include shipping and related costs...and aside from bells and whistles and the DSP du jour, have you noticed any real sonic differance (not imagined)? Not criticizing, it...
