Why? I'm looking for a stereo receiver like the OP, and have narrowed it down to either a Harman Kardon or an Onkyo. Specifically, I'm thinking of getting the Harman Kardon HK3480 for $250. What's wrong with the Harman Kardon? I'm going to be listening primarily through headphones, and will...
What really bothers me about this show is they put seasons two, three and four on defective double-sided DVDs that are bound to fail sooner rather than later. One of my S3 disks already won't play anymore, so what is the point in further collecting the series when we'll never have a reliable...
I'm absolutely sick of this. This very serious problem has been so widespread since the beginning of the format, one wonders why on earth have studios not corrected it by now. Why won't they address this problem at all? What keeps them from adopting floater-proof and scratch-proof packaging? I...

I have plenty to worry about were studios to start over with HD rather than finish the shows they have put out already and releasing others they have not made available yet.
I have also developed a sort of animosity towards high definition DVDs. They represent too great an expense in terms of trouble, money, time and frustration, and the benefits are in my opinion minimal. DVD changed many things when it came out; it was not simply an improvement in video...
Great news!!!! Certainly not something I expected. Hopefully this becomes a trend across the industry now that the big blockbusters are out, and we finally get the rest of other shows such as Everwood, Law & Order and Dream On. The release of complete SNL seasons would also indicate...
I don't think we really need the 95-present track though. It would get too confusing and expensive. Besides, all the recent stuff sucks. ;) I think the dual release pattern idea starting with 75 and 86 would work pretty well.
My interest in high definition movies is already tepid at best. If they start again with that regional coding bullshit, I'm definitely staying out of it.
Not everyone will want to own ~30 complete seasons SNL, and it would take an eternity to get to some of the more popular years if they released them in chronological order. By alternating between the different eras, they can give something to everyone. Sales would be higher this way, and so the...
Just be happy you got the discs. Next time, they'll send out a handful of dirt packed in a potato chip bag. "Silk Stalkings: Season 6 - don't miss out on all the dirt."
Contrary to pretty much every other show, I hope they don't release seasons consecutively. They could do one from the 70s, then one from the late 80s, mid 90s, back to the 70s, and so on. :)
When will these execs learn? Nobody is going to buy even higher-priced music. If they want to succeed, they need to make it very affordable and very versatile. The most I'm paying per album is $8. Anything higher than that, I'll obtain my music elsewhere.
