I think the Dayton kits look pretty nice. I keep thinking about the 12 or 15" kit, but i dont know if i will swing for one. If you get one, post some results on how you like it!
Yeah the dayton looks great for the price... Another thing i think is a great deal for powered subs is the JBL E250 Northridge... Ive seen them for $235 shipped brand new on ebay, and $249 shipped at online stores. I think i might have to get one of those.
I get TONS of bass while watching TV, from just about any show that i watch. There is a lot of bass content in most TV shows, so i dont think thats the problem.
I think the JBL E250P from www.bhphotovideo.com for $249 shipped is the best sub you can get for under 250... I will probably be picking one of those up sometime.
Well from what I understand my sub is about on par with the dayton 10" as it is.. the MTX is a very nice sub for the price... Im probably going to get the 15" Dayton MKIII 15" (1,000 Watts!!) kit this fall anyway, i was just pondering this for the time being. Thanks for the input.
I bought an MTX SW2 12" powered sub recently. I paid $125 shipped and am very happy with it for that price... Occasionally it bottoms out, as can be expected from a $125 sub... i was wondering if putting this driver in would be feasible and a good thing to do...
Wow that looks like a pretty good deal if you are on a budget. Add this http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...sPageName=WDVW or perhaps a dayton and you would be doing pretty good for that money.
Hmm good advice, Ill have to try that on my SW2... So if you turn it 75% down, and raise the volume knob on the back of the sub, you will have about the same out put with less distortion?
I had the same question that you have. First i used speaker signal from the L/R speakers and hooked it into the L/R speaker level inputs on the sub. That game me no bass, so i used connection from the reciever that drove the passive sub that came with the setup and it worked great.
Ok guys, thanks for all the help. Ill try a few different locations and see how it sounds... now if i could just get a bit of help in my other thread :D http://www.hometheaterforum.com/htfo...hreadid=204649
WEll the sub just came via UPS so i guess ill try it out using the line out on my AVR. Cant hurt anwyay. Im not sure if it will work though because in the manual that came with the sub it says "Do not use the tape monitor output from your reciever or preamplifier because its signal level...
Ok my HTiB AVR does not have a subwoofer line out... Im going to be hooking up my new sub using the line level inputs most likely. However i was wondering if i connected the L/R line out from the AVR to the L/R low level inputs on the sub, and used the crossover on the sub, would this work, or...
Im going to soon be running two subs in my living room. It is a 15x13 room that is all closed off except for one doorway... Whats usually the best place to put two subwoofers? Side by side? Opposite ends of one wall? Opposite corners? I was also thinking about putting one in the front right...
I had the KLH 100w 10" HT sub from best buy 4 or 5 years ago when i was in like 9th grade. It was pretty good for me considering i was in a small bedroom... The enclosure rattled and made vibrating noises a lot though. That was the worst home theater sub ive had. After that i had a JBL PB10 150w...
Yeah that dayton looks very nice. Let us know how you like it. I almost want to purchase the other MTX from that guy and run two of them :D... but i think it will overpower my HTiB system
We just got the samsung into our store, ive never seen the picture on one of these and will be interested to see what it looks like when i hook it up tomorrow.
Yes i was also wondering how it would stack up against a dayton... Anyway i know it will be a hell of a lot better than the 6.5" 63watt sub that came with my HTiB setup!
Yes its actually on sale for $179 right now. ANd you can get free shipping if you dont want to drive to the store... But I bought one yesterday on ebay brand new for $125 shipped.
Wow that Dayton looks good for the price... You can get it for $143 shipped. I just ordered the MTX 12" 100w for $125 shipped... I wonder if i made the right choice.
It was an ebay seller. He had two of them listed brand new for $125 shipped, so i went ahead and bought one. He has great feedback, almost 10,000 with 99.2% positive so im sure it will go fine. If you do a search on ebay for MTX SW2 the other one he is selling will come up. Seems like a steal to...
Ive heard some people mention the MTX SW2 sub, but nobody seems to have owned it. For $179 from circuit city, it seems like a good deal for someone like me. Im not an audiophile by any means, i just want a sub that will produce more bass then the one that came in my HTiB setup. This 12" 100w RMS...
