need help with black levels - dlp front projector

I have found that the infocus projectors are so bright that a neutral density filter and some careful calibration is required. My first experience with this projector has been a treat to say the least. Everything is great about it but a demo at a local store showed me it,s strengths and...

    display problem with 4805

Is your screen size a 16-9 shape(very close to a 1.85 aspect ratio)? Projectors are always referenced off of this screen size as a 2.35 film will fit into it. By going to a 2.35 set up initially, your 1.85 films will be off the top and bottom. If I am missing something here let me know. :)

new projector around $5000CAD (approx $3500-$4000US)

The infocus 5700 would be an ideal candidate to your requirements. I am not sure about the (2) sets of component inputs but with most people using video switchers in there receivers or pre-pro,s this should not be a problem. Tons of light output and fantastic reviews on this unit. I have...

cheap vs.expensive projectors just for dvd,s

wow, a benq 8700 for 4 grand is amazing. For that price you are one lucky individual. Have heard a lot of good things about that projector. HD+2 performance for a fraction of the price of the sharp 12000. A large percentage of people on this forum seem to really give high marks to the sharp...

cheap vs.expensive projectors just for dvd,s

Thanks Chris. I always thought that resolution was the big factor in overall picture quality but am now starting to see why this is not quite the end all. Time to go shopping with a little bit more of a budget. The sharp 12000 hd+2 is my first choice but the in focus 5700 is more in my price...

    Runco 1000c bulb burn out

Premature bulb burnout could happen to any projector at any time. It is common for any light device to be defective and should not be a source of any one product. With the cost of the lamps as they are, One might be concerned if it happens twice in a row. Then it is time to look at the...

Anyone have a Runco 1000ci DLP Front DLP Projector?

The report of the sharp 9000 vs. the runco 1000c by michael will be very interesting to say the least. I personaly would put my sharp 12000 hd+2 up against the runco and would not get too worried about the results. The runco is a fantasic unit to say the least but price is always a factor with 2...

cheap vs.expensive projectors just for dvd,s

For maximum viewing pleasure and picture quality, would a lower resolution and cost 800x600 projector give the same results as a higher resolution 1024x720 projector with same video feed such as dvd,s which are 720x480? Most people watch dvd material on there projectors because of the limited...
