"You won't get the full benefit of some audio (HD Master Audio, for instance) over the optical connection, but you will get audio of no lesser quality than you have been getting." That's a relief, that's what I was hoping. I really want the HD audio but will have to wait for a while, I just...
I'm getting a new tv(52LG70) that uses HDMI(my old one used DVI) and was wondering if there would be any loss of audio quality by connecting my PS3 and satellite receiver etc. via HDMI to my tv and then using an optical digital cable from my tv to my receiver. My Marantz receiver isn't HDMI...
Thanks for the feedback guys. I went out and bought the 360 yesterday along with the recharger that plugs into the wall and an extra battery pack. As for games I bought Call Of Duty 3 and Saints Row. So far I'm loving Saints Row, I haven't even played COD3 yet. The controller is great, I got...
So I've been checking out different sites looking for a router and discovered some require Win XP or 2000 etc. I use Win Me, is it difficult to find one that will work with Me? I found this one, it doesn't say that it needs a specific win version. Do you think it will work...
Thanks Robert, I appreciate the info it's a great help. I always treat my gear very well and I don't think I would play the 360 to the point of overheating, I'm guessing that has caused most problems. About XBox Live, I would imagine it's also important for system updates right. The only...
I’m looking to purchase a next gen game console and am interested in the 360. I was initially going to get the PS3 but the price is horrendous, and it is nowhere to be found. Even worse is the fact that I just recently found out that my tv down converts 720p to 480p, and I don’t want to play PS3...
The shipping is definitely a killer. With the added cost of shipping from that distance, you probably wouldn't get much value for the dollar. What other brand speakers are available in your area? Are there brands such as JBL, Polk, Energy, Infinity, Mirage, Athena. These companies would have...
I mean that this forum is very pro SVS. So when I see someone ask a sub question, especially one where they are comparing SVS to another product, I have a little chuckle and shake my head. There should be a sticky in this forum titled :"Got A sub Question? Get an SVS":) I'm not questioning...
Why do you need the sub? The E90's have dual 8" drivers and go down to 36hz. Have you considered the E100's, they have dual 10" drivers and reach down to 33hz and would probably save some $$ compared to the E90's & E250.
I loved that show, but I had no idea that I was watching a censored version until reading this thread. Wow, I'd love to get the uncensored version on dvd.
I love my Sennheiser HD 280 pro's. I can wear them for hours without discomfort. They sound great too and are probably around $100US or less these days. I paid about $200CAD a few years ago. Definitely worth checking out!!
What about these, I've never seen so many drivers in a speaker. Crazy!! http://www.swanspeaker.com/product/htm/view.asp?id=193 Tweeter : 32 Ribbons (RT1) Midrange : 16 Ribbons (R8) Woofer : 4x8"(D8) Imagine the cost of parts alone.
What would the signs of magnetic interference look like on a crt? I've noticed something strange on my sony wide screen RPTV lately. I can see curved lines on dimly lit scenes, say torches lighting a dark cave or a fade out between scenes for example. You can't see them in scenes with rich color...
You would have to pay Canadian taxes on the US total, then a duty fee plus a larger shipping fee and the warranty would probably be void. After all this the Dayton wouldn't be such a good deal.
The Yamaha 5790 has 110W per channel and the 5890 has 120W per channel. You should be able to find everthing on them here, also check the Owners Manual (PDF) and Product Brochure (PDF) 5790: http://www.yamaha.ca/av/Receivers/HTR_5790B.jsp 5890...
"You'll also be drawing twice the current on that channel unless you use an external stereo amp." Well I guess that idea is shot down in flames. Thanks to John. lol :D "Even if you got slammed with duty, this price is unreal...or ROADTRIP!!!" I did some calculations and I would end up...
"Why 2 E30's? Why not just one?" I wouldn't have any use for the second speaker and I figured that by using two I would get the benefit of the two 6" woofers and the two tweeters. Kenneth, would there be a decrease in sound quality by using the E30's in series. Like I said the only reason...
I was thinking about using two JBL E30's wired in series for the center channel. The brand isn't important, I'm just wondering if anyone else has done this and what they thought of it. Since these speakers are 8ohms connecting them in series should give a 16ohm load, right? Will this be easier...
I got it online at futureshop.ca, they're sold out now they went very fast. I'm not sure if the price I paid will seem good to some folks but is was to me, I got it for $329+tax. I had been saving for the velodyne vx10 which was $299.99 but when I saw that the athena was marked down and only $30...
So are these timbre matched to the first audition series? I think they should at least have introduced a center with 6.5" woofers. I'm glad though that they put out a new "lame ass cosmetic changes only" line up, because I got my AS-P400 for a good price and it's more sub than I need.
Stephen, Did you check out the Athena AS-R1 Dipole Surround Speakers. They should be easier to place since they are wall mountable. And they will be reduced in price like all the audition series. AS-R1 dimensions: 7.1"H x 12.4"W x7.1"D Here's some info...
