From what i gathered, those ferrites are used to drive relatively thin analog cables or long runs with high resistence. For normal length Video/Audio cables, you'll be fine without them.
Best: NEC LT-240K Projector, Hughes HTL-HD HDTV receiver Worst: Liteon LVD-2001 upscaling DVD player. Did not live up to the hype. Went back to my trusted Denon 1600.
Go for it, i don't think you will notice a difference at all. There are plenty other things in a system that matters much more when comes to audio quality.
For the best quality, i suggest Canare LV-61S (RG59) / LV-77S (RG6) with Canare RCAP connectors. However they are relatively expensive and may be an overkill depend on your quality preference. Yi Yin
I would include reference to all the quality parts in your ebay auction. Most buyers there either go for the cheaper 4s11 alternatives like the one you mentioned or name brand crap. just my 2 cents. Yi
I recently built some DIY belden canare cables. I am looking for the best way to color code them (red/blue/green/orange/white etc). I've tried colored canare boots, however they don't fit the techflex i have on the cable. Colored heatshrinks are nice. Are there any other alternative out there...
No problem with 4s11 here either, make sure you start with the lowest temperature first and hold it far enough to just able to shrink the heat shrink. Hope this helps. Yi
I recommend westlake electronic for belden and canare parts. I just placed an $250 order, and they shipped it the same day and i got it three days later. Their prices are very competitive as well Yi
