??? EVO DFS or Diamond 8 DFS ???

I have EVO DFS and the Diamond 8.4 towers. They sound great to me. I'm not sure what the difference between the DIAMOND and EVO DFS speakers are though. You may want to call Wharfedale and ask, because they might be the same speaker.

    SVS 25-31CS vs PB10-ISD

No, by certainly no means am I all that concerned about the 11-13% difference. However, if the CS will be the better bet in the long run, (and I'm partial to the cylinders) I was wondering which would be the better bet.

Thanks Ron! Good to know these things... I appreciate it!

    SVS 25-31CS vs PB10-ISD

Thanks for the info all..... I'll send an email to Tom and see what he thinks. The concern at the moment is the total cost, as the more expensive (and heavy) PB-10 will put me over my spending limit. If I can get by for a while using an old amp (Pioneer 100W), then eventually buy a more powerful...

    SVS 25-31CS vs PB10-ISD

Alright, this may be a dumb question, or beating a dead horse, but I'm a noob and looking to upgrade my sub. Right now I'm looking to buy a SVS, and have a question. Which of these two subs would be the better buy? I know the CS ($379) is a passive sub, but I would plan on running it with an...

    $200 Sub Options

    I second that question... right now it's $399 STF-2 and $299 for the STF-1. http://www.hsuresearch.com/products/ Am I missing something?

    wharfedale?

I ended up getting a screaming deal on Wharfedale Diamond 8's with the DFS surrounds. All I can say is that I love them. Especially the DFS surrounds, they are really an exceptional pair of speakers. The Diamond 9s are supposed to be even better, but if you can find a deal on the 8s, I'd say do it.

    InFocus 4805 + 76"' screen $1,399 at Costco

I'm with you guys on this one. I just found (and immediately bought) one of the last remaining original X1 projectors from CC for $799. Bought a 92" High Contrast Matte White Deluxe Screen (Da Lite) and two 35' cables and my total cost was well under $1100. I laugh when I go to the local store...

Wharfedale Diamond 8 Series (8.1, 8.4, 8 Center) vs Infinty Primus brand

Do a search on this forum. Most people love their Wharfedales...... Same could be said for the Infinity set as well.

    Random "popping" noise from speakers...help!

Ok, this is going to sound strange, but I had a similar problem and found out this was happening when a large appliance in my house turned on that was on the same breaker. (Sump pump in my basement).

    X1 and Component Lines

I have recently bought a X1 projector, and at the moment I have it connected to an older Pioneer DVD player (not a progressive-scan player) via a long S-video cable. My Pioneer has component video output (that is how it is connected to my TV) and I was wondering if it would be worth...

    Front projector thoughts...

I was actually quite amazed by the quality from my front projector (I've had it for 1 week now). The only trade-off is the light issue, but if you have an enclosed room, you shoud be fine.

    Wrinkles in a screen

Jimi Thanks for the info.... left it overnight with a weight tied to the pull handle..... didn't help much, they're pretty severe creases. Considering it was a free screen, I may try some alternative methods and see what happens. If I can't get them out, I'll probably end up using my wall...

    Wrinkles in a screen

Ok. I finally pulled the trigger on a Infocus X1. I managed to track down one of the last remaining new X1s in my area. A Circuit City had one for $799 so I drove 75 miles to buy it. And man, oh man... I'm so glad that I did. The quality of the image was impressive, even displayed on my wall. Of...

    Best buy tvs?

Well that's the thing. I have contacted my local company both by phone and email and have been told "We have no plans to update our cable to HDTV anytime in the future." We're talking about a little rinky-dink cable outfit here. I get 40 channels and that's considered a lot for their...

    Best buy tvs?

This may be off the topic and better suited for another forum, but what do you do if your local cable company NEVER plans to add HDTV? I live in the middle of nowhere Minnesota, and we really need cable for local events (mainly tornado warnings) so I can't go to satellite (and broadcast TV is...

Wharfedale Diamond series, Energie or what for 5.1 <$

I contacted Wharfedale directly. They told me that if I had my receipt (regardless of where it was from) all my speakere were covered. I highly recommend listening to your choice before you buy online... so you make well informed decision.

Wharfedale Diamond series, Energie or what for 5.1 <$

Wharfedale recommends placing them directly behind your listening position (on your back wall with your couch up against it)... so you'd be fine. Get a chance to listen to the Paradigms yet?

Wharfedale Diamond series, Energie or what for 5.1 <$

Depends on your room configuration. I believe Wharfedale recommends having them on the back wall behind the listening position (if the position is close to the back wall) or if the back wall is a good distance from the listening position you mount them on the side walls behind the sweet spot...

Wharfedale Diamond series, Energie or what for 5.1 <$

I have the Diamond 8 series in the exact configuration that you mentioned (sans the sub)..... I love them... if you go to other audio forums folks praise them. You'll need a powerful amp though.... You may have this, but check out their review at www.audioreview.com Diamond 8.4 (4.79...

    Human Eyes Resolution?

    Human Eyes Resolution?

    Human Eyes Resolution?

A normal unaided eye can project an image onto the retina and keep it focused at a distance of no closer than 10 cm. At a 10-cm distance the eye can seperate objects that are 0.1mm apart. If two objects are closer than this distance then the eye will not be able to discern the b/w the two...

What do you guys do with your old TVs?

I'm in the market for a new RPTV, but need to get rid of my old set.... which made me wonder, what do the rest of you guys do with your TVs when you upgrade? Sell them outright? Keep them in the basement? I imagine you can't get much money for a TV that is 6-7 years old. I'm at the point...

    Monopoles vs Dipoles for Surround

Don't rule out bipoles. In addition: From what I understand it is not as important to have your rear surrounds match your fronts (in terms of speaker line). I've had bipoles for about a month now and completley love them for DVD movies. They are quite different from monopoles and I noticed a...
