You are damn right they should be obligated. Unless they were clear on the product before you bought it or they were sold 'as is' then you have plenty of reasons to demand some type of recourse on the sellers. DEFINITELY don't do anything feedback wise until you are satisifed with the results...
Coax digital is the one that looks like other RCA jacks but its specifically for transferring digital signals. The one with the light is the Optical Digital.
I looked at exactly the same choices you are and I went with the Denon 3805. The main reason's I did at the time was the comparable model from HK was: 1) The 7200 and it only had 2 component inputs (I needed 3) 2) I loved the auto EQ feature on the Denon 3) Simply liked the sound coming...
One thing I would like to mention is that you need to keep in mind that the CD player is one of the most important areas that you DO NOT want to skimp on if audio is important to you. A crappy CD player will lose high and low frequency response and color the sound which you can never recover...
Here is a vote for the Denon 3805. I have this powering my Def Tech speakers and I can safely say it is AWESOME for movies. I went around a did a lot of A/B testing between different receivers and for the money, I thought the Denon was the best bang for the buck...at least IMO. The only downside...
Shawn, I would suggest maybe a Home Theater Master MX-700 for your next home theater upgrade. That remote pile is getting dangerous. You don't want to break your coffee table with them all. :)
Actually I had read in a few places that the 5910 wasn't coming until around March 2005. I wouldn't hold your breath for November 2004 though. I will see if I can dig up some links on the dates.
I haven't had my Definitive Technology speaker's as long as some here but this is the current setup: Definitive Technology BP7006's Mains Definitive Technology C/L/R 2300 Center Definitive Technology BP1.2X's Surrounds Definitive Technology ProSub200TL Sub This system COMPLETELY...
I don't think the 3910 is replacing the 5900, it's just trickle down effect where the old technology is making its way into the newer lower models. There is the 5910 coming sometime in 2005 that will have new features on it.
Here is a snip from the press release: "DVD-3910: Reference-Quality Universal DVD Player Performance The DVD-3910 includes virtually all of the advanced features, image enhancement technologies and audio benefits first introduced in Denon’s acclaimed DVD-5900 DVD player, all for a...
My first unit I got from Grochnauers would only have picture and sound through S-Video. If I hooked up Composite, I would get sound but no picture whatsoever and when DVI was hookedup, I would get nothing, not even the Zenith logo, sound or anything and it would freeze up completely at the Hello...
Was wondering with those that have experience, what kind of difference in sound am I likely to hear if I went with the more expensive Denon 2900 over the 2200 DVD players? Are we talking a signifigant change for the better or diminishing returns improvement for the price jump?
This one might have caught my eye: Pioneer DV-578A Universal DVD/CD/SACD/DVD-Audio player Crutchfield has it for $149 but I bet I can do better than that elsewhere. I'm new to the high rez format music like DVD-A and SA-CD so this would give me a chance to get my feet wet and see if its...

Well that really sucks! One of the reasons for me getting the 3805 over the 2805 was the Denon Link and it sounds like something that might never be used if what you are saying is correct. I would think that Denon might be willing to upgrade/change out the Denon link for i.Link on the 3805 as...

Well that is interesting. I guess the new models won't output SA-CD sound though the Denon link either then? That is a letdown, especially if I just spent $2K on a DVD player.

OK, I don't necessarilly have to have SA-CD only, it can be a DVD-A player as well and FYI, the Zenith doesn't do DVD-A either as you noted. I'm looking for something that does 5.1 output though so that will narrow the field down some and if it plays CD's good thats a bonus though I figured most...
