The pilot was decent. Good cinematography and Rebecca Gayheart in a thong (yummy!). However, the lead investigators acting is atrocious (very stiff). Overall, I'll watch the next episode or two and see if it grabs me, but I doubt it'll make any sort of decent run. At least we have MNF.
I don't believe it's available on DirectTV yet. I'm not sure about the cableco's, but it is available for Dishnetwork. You're not missing too much though yet, there hasn't been a ton of HD programming yet and what HD I have seen has been rather average compared to some of the other HD broadcasts.
Saw this a few days ago. Thought it was very good but not great (Heat/Collateral level).
Few quick points...
The dialogue wasn't nearly as bad as I was expecting from the early feedback. The dialogue leading up to taking the mission from the FBI felt forced, but alot of the dialogue issues...
Anyone have any clue what band that was that covered Midnight Rider at the end? Seemed to have a more modern beat to it then the normal Allman Brothers version so I'm assuming it was a cover.
My girlfriend and I literally jumped out of our seats in cheers when Crash won. Nice to see the truly best film of the year win. (...though we wouldn't have been terribly disappointed with Munich :D)
Good Lord thats one hell of a transfer. Video is absolutely breathtaking and the sub was put through quite a workout last night.
Am I missing something, isn't this film in 2.35:1? It looked fine on my 62" DLP last night. The best testament to this film are the following points:How...
Have there been any reviews released yet, or a common consensus on whether the new transfer offers an improvement from the older transfer? Count me in as one of the few that is disappointed with the lack of quality extras, but first and foremost I care about how the actual film looks. It's going...
Can't speak for stoned, but the following films are great for sitting around and watching with friends while intoxicated. Big Lebowski Jackass: the Movie Night at the Roxbury
Is the aspect ratio correct on the WS version of the disc? Both Amazon and the back of the case state that the film is in 1.85:1, but it looked letterboxed on my 16x9 set last night. I doublechecked the DVD player settings and everything looked correct. It was almost like the DVD player wasn't...
Colin, just somewhat reiterating what Robert said. I didn't mean to be condescending to you, and I apologize if I inadvertently offended you in anyway. The meaning of my comment was more the variety of I find it sad when a film that I hold in rather high esteem fails to connect with viewers (I...
Sad to see that reviewer not enjoying the film. My father, brother and I can literally recite the movie verbatim from seeing it literally hundreds of times. Anytime we pass a cop we still have to say "I bet they have S.C.M.O.D.S". It was a staple of my childhood.
Somewhat Off-Topic, but to those of us who are longing for a new quality transfer of the movie, the Directors Cut is going to be airing in September on HDnet. Details below:
Blade Runner (Director's Cut) - New for September!
Rating: R
Year: 1982
Cast:Harrison Ford, Rutger Hauer, Sean...
My girlfriend and I had the good fortune of discovering this show when season one started airing. I was a little weary of the first few episodes this season as they didn't seem to have quite the dark humor that season one had, but this last weeks episode redeemed the series in my eyes. As...
Even looking for it I missed the quick sighting of the penguin in Arkham. On that note, I like that they integrated Arkham instead of just showing it as the ending place for the criminally insane like previous attempts.
:star::star::star::star: / :star::star::star::star: Wow... Saw this last night and what a great revitalization of the franchise. I still remember being about eight and going to see Burton's Batman. It was one of the unique times where the movies truly felt like a magical experience. It...
We sat down and watched this last night after my local theater lied to us about Batman Begins showtimes on their website and we missed our screening. Picture Quality looked great on a 62" DLP. The sound quality was pretty good but seemed to be a bit front-driven though considering the movie...
Thought I'd throw my 2 cents in... Take this with a grain of salt, because I'm not a huge fan of the genre, but I found this film to be horrendously bad. In fact, about the only thing that elicited fear in me was the realization that half-way through there was still another half to sit...
I'm not sure how well it would work, but personally I'd be absolutely thrilled to be able to pick up a quality DVD release of a film either directly after seeing it in the theater or as an alternative to seeing it in the theater. By quality, I mean not a barebones release that I'm paying $40...
Just thought I'd correct myself. From the book of "I don't know half of what I say I know", today I corrected my DVD player settings so that it was outputing a 16:9 signal instead of 4:3. Yes I'm a dumbass. Anyways, the DVD input into the TV now looks amazing. I was a bit disappointed for this...
My TV got delivered yesterday! :D :D As such I figured I'd give you guys my initial impressions. Reported Problems (e.g. problems people have reported) ------------------------------------------------------ - Brightsport - It appears, at least initially, that my TV does not suffer from...
I just got my Mitsu WD-62525 yesterday. When I was shopping for it I never saw any rainbows in the store. After 14 or so hours of use, it appears that I can see rainbows in two different scenarios. 1) As previous posters have noted, in scenes with stark contrast. The most easy screen to...
Welp guys, finally bit the bullet. I bought the 62525 today. It gets delivered on Thursday. I looked at the Sony 60" Grand Wega while I was at BB also, but it was too wide for my set up and I was more comfortable going with DLP over LCD technology. Just a follow-up, the BB service plan does...
