Well, at least a collection of Thelma Todd shorts with Patsy Kelly and Zasu Pitts is coming out in Germany in October...

Actually, this information has been on the site all along (it applied to all of Warnershops products)...and when you click on the films it still says "Ships to US destinations only..."
Well, I can wait...;)
Well, yes, it does...living in a country where a lot of people won't buy dvds unless they have subtitles, I didn't even notice them as I watched that initially...but yes, they were forced :-(
It's comforting to know, while waiting for the Warner Archive to open to us Europeans, that some films just getting their DVD release in the States, have already been issued here. Lonely Are the Brave is one such film (a fine French release), while all the films on the upcoming Jack Lemmon...
In Europe, at least, the following appears to be coming out in August: Charro!, Kissin' Cousins, Girl Happy, Live a Little, Love a Little, Stay Away, Joe as single disc editions. Elvis: That's the Way It Is (2-disc special edition with original and 2001 edition), This is Elvis (2-disc edition...
Within the Elvis fan circles there has been heated discussion on this subject. Many are hoping for a definitive edition of Elvis On Tour. This Is Elvis is a possibility as a barebones release from what I understand. In Europe the Warner branches (at least in Holland and Finland) have...
A while back I purchased an official DVD of this from Japan. The image was anamorphic, but with 1.85:1 aspect ratio. As I understand, the OAR is 2.35:1. Is it? Other than that, the image looked fine. Extras included the original trailer in a 4:3 letterbox format, and the aspect ratio of that was...
Concerning Play Dirty: I purchased a Japanese version of it with the original soundtrack (and optional subtitles) in all its widescreen anamorphic glory about a year ago from www.cdjapan.co.jp It's still offered there (although it's listed as Play Diary) for $33...
Unfortunately, I cannot. This seems to be purely a Finnish release. All the sites I've used here have hardly any english on them. All I can suggest is to e-mail one of these stores and make inquiries. Rest assured: they all speak English! ;) Below are a couple e-mail addresses for stores...
I don't know all the details, but I am 100% certain that these are NOT bootlegged. The set is published in co-operation with Panvision (a Scandinavian publisher: www.panvision.com) and The Finnish Broadcasting Company (YLE, the Finnish equivalent to BBC). They have also other sets such as Cary...
As far as I can tell, the subs are not removable. I took some screenshots but the subs don't appear on these, for some reason. Naturally this is a region 2 PAL-release. The cover art shown in the link was that of the back cover, by the way. Here you can see the front cover. The release...
I don't know if is of any interest to you, but I just bought a Falcon box set here in Finland. It contains the first nine films of the series. The soundtrack is in original English with Finnish subtitles. Haven't had time to look at it yet, though, so i can't comment on the picture quality...
It says "Anamorphic" at axelmusic.com for both Guns at batasi and These Thousand Hills (a film I'm looking to get). However, no mention of aspect ratio. But then again, whoever heard of anamorphic pan&scan...?
A small update on this matter: apparently at the "Elvis Insider's Conference" during Elvis week in Memphis Tom Brown from Turner Enterprises spoke regarding the 6 DVDs that were announced last year for release in January '05. He said they all have been mastered and are ready, but supposedly...
Here in Finland the majority of Harold's features were shown on TV this past winter (and rerun this summer). Starting from "A sailor-made man" up to "Milky Way" missing out on only "Feet first" and "Welcome Danger". I actually taped them, but with this upcoming boxset I can now happily chuck...
One should never leak any news, as EPE is slowly learning... From elvisnews.com: Here is EPE's answer regarding the six Elvis movie from Warner Bros. which were announced for release on DVD this January. "Last August, Warner colleagues gave us the information about the 6 DVD releases...
Warner is supposed to bring out 6 Elvis movies on January 8th. This has not been officially confirmed as of yet, however. The news was leaked by an EP Enterprises excecutive last August.
It was announced (or leaked, rather) during Elvis week that Warner will release 6 new Elvis DVDs on Jan. 8th 2005. These are: "Charro", "Kissin' Cousins", "Live A Little Love A Little", "Stay Away Joe", "Tickle Me" and "Girl Happy". After this patch all of Elvis' movies will be available on...
Yes, they will be anamorphic: regarding all releases the following statement was officially issued. "This region 1 DVD is remastered in a new 16x9 digital transfer, in a format preserving the scope aspect ratio of the original theatrical exhibition, enhanced for widescreen TVs. The DVD also...
